Friends,
We had a good turnout in front of the Federal Building this afternoon
from 4-6. There were 18 of us, the usual suspects plus some very
welcome new faces. It was a diverse mix of clergy and other church
people, and Jewish, Muslim and secular peace activists, folks from
Friends of Sabeel, AAPER , Jewish Voice for Peace, and WCW. Signs and
banners urged an end to US support for Israel, an end to the blockade
of Gaza, tearing down the Apartheid Wall, Compassion for Gazans, etc.
Bob Stiver visited the Congressional offices, some of which were
closed for the holidays. Jesse Ponce de Leon conducted video
interviews of some of the participants. Mahalo to all who joined us
in solidarity for the people of Gaza and the convoys of humanitarian
aid workers stuck outside of the world's largest open-air prison.
Peace and aloha,
Margaret

Less than 2/10 of 1% of the population of Honolulu is a "good turnout"?
"Diverse mix"? Shit, 18 people from 7 different groups plus "church people
and, clergy" - two people per category does not make a "diverse group". And
I bet all those congressional staffers in the closed offices were impressed.
What happened, pinkie, not enough peanut butter & bread to lure more of the
homeless to pad your "support" numbers?

Fuck Gaza until they learn to behave and accept Israel's right to exist.
