A Virgina 4th grade history text book makes the claim, including 2
battalions of black troops under Stonewall Jackson
the book's author got the info from the SCV website.

The "Virginia . . . history text book" was published by Five Ponds
Press, acc. to this page located in Weston, CT.

http://www.fivepondspress.com/

Is that an error?

The author is Joy Masoff, who acc. to this web page lives in
Westchester, NY.

http://www2.scholastic.com/browse/collateral.jsp?id=326

Acc. to this page, it was William & Mary (Williamsburg, VA) professor
Carol Sheriff who called attention to the error.

So Ray, you are saying there were in fact black confederate troops?

How many is "all"? In fact there were none. They weren't troops,
they were teamsters, cooks,, etc, but not troops.

The only reason you know about the error, originally made by a
Connecticut publisher and a New York author, is that a Wm & Mary
prof. found it, reported it, and the schoolbook authorities acted
appropriately on it.

Your sectionalism is showing Ray.

This fails to meet the minimal standards for serious consideration.
