Here is an interesting analysis that ought to help A.Lurker and Mini
Mouse in their campaign to demonize the white south.

It shows that the whites in the southern states vote way more Republican
than whites nationwide. Trust me, I know this. I had the only Obama
sign in my cul-de-sac.

This quote from a liberal pov (Daily Kos,cited above):

"Democrats can now win elections with virtually no support from southern
white voters. So, we are going to get to the point where we must ask
what do these people matter in elections? I think it is one of the
things that allowed Obama to embrace gay marriage. So, what? Are you
gonna lose southern white voters? No one is afraid of losing this demo
anymore." (Daily Kos, cited above)

Notice the logic. It's the exact opposite of A.Lurker's lurid fears that
"the (white) South" will lead the country back to the dark ages. By
voting like this, the white south make themselves irrelevant, in
presidential politics. The GOP has them in their pocket. The Democrats
can't reach them.

We need Earle and Merle Black to explain this to us.
