Do not hide behind me. The Grinch is always doing that.
And he ill-treats me too. He is always eating my fish.
and telling lies about me in this group.
One day I am going to put the record straight on his antics.

I know there has recently been discussion about how long the NSC takes to
adjudicate an I-130. I just received an approval for an I-130 submitted to NSC.
According to the dates listed on the receipt notice, they could have taken
until August 4th 2000 to process the case, but it was approved on April 28th.
Thought some of you I-130'ers might be interested.

Best Regards,

Isn't this an isolated case, Matt? I don't know anything about the NSC
processing times but I know that the East Coast INS SC sucks! It's
impossible to get thru on the phone if you wanna talk to an immigration
officer. I've been waiting for my I130 IR's approval since March 10,
2000. Sure, I got the NOA with the usual "blah-blah" on it but even
according to the INS, we shouldn't base any timeframe estimates on
what's on the NOA.
Therefore, I am contemplating bringing my wife to the US with a little
help of an aluminum boat in which instance we would get media's
attention that would eventually evolve into the US government paying
for our house rental, dog food, and a fisherman in the closet.
I am joking, of course, yet I have to relay to you that I am not the
happiest citizen of the United States.

You are to imply that I would mistreat you or not offer you fish in
return for permitting me to hide behind you?! *sheesh*

I was going to give you ALL of my fish... In fact, any fish that I
ever come in contact with -- *you* can have...

I guess that would have been helpful to post that bit of information, sorry. I
was too lazy to get off my can to go get the file and look it up when typing my
post.

Actually, I was rather preoccupied today with a computer problem. Over the past
couple of days, I've opened up word documents on my computer only to have a
message pop up saying there is a big problem with the disk/file. There is
always some places where the text is gone and ********* fill the place where
they data was. The file that had this happen to it today is a rather important
one; just lucky for me I print it out every week so I'm only looking at a few
hours creating a new version of this document.

My work computer is pretty old. I bought 1/2 of it from an immigration attorney
I once worked with (her old beater computer), then bought her half when we went
our separate ways. Maybe its time for a new machine for the office. Something
that could handle streaming video so I could start using a phone cam when
talking to clients that have the gear to do this.

Anyway, I'm now answering from home, and again I'm too lazy to get on my
bicycle and ride back down to the office to look it up; however you can figure
out when it was filed with a little math and your calendar (I'll get to that in
a minute).

Besides being too lazy to go to the office, I'm in pretty bad shape this
evening. I've never really injured my back before, but yesterday I pulled the
right middle side when holding out a very heavy object while walking up and
down some stairs. Really hurts (my neighbor and I were cooking up a batch of
home brew, and I was taking the brew pot to his house to chill the wert).

I'm glad I was not injured on Saturday (two days off, the whole weekend is
unheard of for me) as that day I went to the LA Convention Center to see the
Cal. Bicycle Expo. I can't believe how much mountain bikes cost today, and the
technology has come along way since 1991 when I bought my low end mountain
bike. The forks look like motorcycle forks, and the tires are huge now. There
were some pretty cool stunts by the Schwinn freestyle/jump team, and I took
some good photos to add to my cycle pages.. in case you are interested in
seeing them, they are located at http://members.aol.com/MitsuAvaco/critmas2.htm

The main reason I went was to participate in the night urban assault ride held
after the bike expo closed in the evening. Approximately 50 cyclists rode all
over downtown LA, and it was a lot of fun. Some of the modern high end cyclists
were getting into jamming down staircases scatted throughout the city. There
was one particular staircase twisting back and forth down a very high hill
between two skyscrapers. The descent was made up of probably 8 different
sections of descending staircases with a few feet of level ground between each
section. These guys were flying down them, catching massive air. Quite a few
flat tires for them over the evening. My hard tail bike would never allow such
a thing, so I watched from the side and shot some photos of the dare devils for
my cycle site.

About the I-130 that was just approved... August 4th 2000 would be the maximum
time quoted on the I-797 receipt notice, and I believe it was 240 to 270 days
or in that range. So go back 270 days before August 4th, and that's when I
filed it.
