I try to revive an old DSR921 (Canadian Version of the 4DTV) I hope to use
it to received the few clear DC2 American channels still available.

The unit appear to work fine, I did a Master Reset and Reload the channel
map. I can program the satellites and the DC2 led light up as is suppose to
do, but I can NOT received anything. The unit lock indicating that is
searching for channel. I try on different satellite, and everywhere, it's
the same message. Free or not, the unit can not identified any DC2 channels.
(Work fine with analog).

Any reason for that behavior?
Did StarChoice change the firmware so it can not receive any American
channels?
Do you know any way to correct that or reprogram as an original DSR920?

I did not try the unit on SC signal (No Ku at the location), I suppose it
will work...

Bye
Jacques

I'm not an expert in the 4DTV realm, but my understanding is that a
master reset will also reset any authorizations you have in the receiver
and it will need a "hit". Unfortunately, Star Choice are the only people
that can hit those units.

It is also my understanding that zero key programming is receivable on
those units (assuming you get the maps from G10R now G18), but you have
to have a valid hit from SC first.

DSR921 could never be authorized for US DC-II subscription channels -
only VC-II authorizations were allowed. The software has not been
changed.
