What 3 older classic or more recent classic, Warner Bros only produced
films that you greatly admire, would you most love seeing get a
special edition Blu Ray DVD release, because of the fact that each
title mentioned hasn't yet got one and/or because you were hugely
disappointed with the standard DVD release it got (if any title named
even got one). Please separately say why, for each title mentioned.

It has already been digitized because there is an HD DVD release of it.
So, it is very likely already on Warner's list, as most of the HD DVD
library has been re-issued on BD by most of the studios.

A pretentious posting by a teacher wannabe. What are you going to do,
Keith, grade us on our reasons why? Blu-ray is Sony technology, so
you can expect it to become worthless, replaced by new and better
technology. Sony, which two years ago had a potential recall of 25
million SD DVDs it released with extreme copy protection (the DVDs
would not work on many DVD players as a result) likes Blu-ray because
it is hard to copy and not worth the trouble. Earlier BD players had
problems playing some BD DVDs because the owners had to get upgraded
firmware to handled changes in the copy protection software.

Across the board, Sony puts the consumer second as it tries to protect
its so-called intellectual property. I have a Monopoly CDROM with
SUREROM software that put a rootkit in my computer, which I could only
remove before a lawsuit against Sony forced it to put a removal tool
on the Internet.

An upconverting DVD player hooked to a flat panel display via HDMI
input is good enough. And a lot cheaper.

Hard to copy? The multi-million dollar protection scheme -
which was/is supposed to be self adjusting when "cracked" has
been cracked since about 4 weeks after the first disc came to
market. The entire movie/TV industry, this time led by Sony,
has poured megabucks into the pockets of Y2K programmers who
quickly learned the staggering value of selling to fools what
fools want. And, unwittingly, more megabucks into the pockets
of a few programmers who simply make fools of the others
repeatedly.

And what does any of this do for the consumer except raise the
price of the product?

Real pirates, mostly on foreign shores, have to be pursued
politically as before.

>Earlier BD players had

This is certainly not limited to "early" devices. No Internet
connection, sooner or later you'll find a disc that won't play.
Internet connection - then a few minutes or more after insertion
and update you'll begin to see the mandatory adverts and
trailers pop up to play before you can watch the content you
think you own i.e. "leased," or rented.

Well, anyone who left themself subject to root kits, or any
other autorun function, on removable media is a fool.

>An upconverting DVD player hooked to a flat panel display via
>HDMI
>input is good enough. And a lot cheaper.

Pioneers in any era pay prices that those who follow do not.
We're rapidly getting to BD players with jane and joe consumer
friendly purchase prices. While many Blu-Ray discs are pricey,
compared with their DVD counterparts, many others are becoming
more reasonable.

To suggest that Blu-Ray is not better than DVD, though perhaps
marginally vs. upconverted SD or HDTV, is specious. It's the
perceived degree of improvement which is debatable, as well as
the value in dollars of that degree to consumers.

Clearly you perceive no benefit in BD to your own video
enjoyment. Others, including myself, do. Some, also including
myself, have become HD biased and avoid SD whenever the better
alternative is available.

As to the subject, I've no idea what titles are produced by
which Hollywood (or independant) producers. Although I
recognize many of their logos, I certainly quickly forget them
while appreciating the content. Maybe the only release I now
recognize as being from FOX is "Star Wars," because for years I
thought the FOX intro music was part of the "Star Wars" sound
track :-( I still get sucked in, when a FOX film is starting at
home, that I may have played "Star Wars" instead of what I'd
intended.

Films, from whatever producer, which I'd like to buy on Blu-Ray:

Fiddler on the Roof
Cabaret
Cyrano de Bergerac (hopefully a well restored version)
Hard Candy (although the DVD, without upconversion, was
pristine)
Singin' in the rain
Willow
The African Queen
Bagdad Cafe
Angel Heart
Back to the Future trilogy
Dangerous Liaisons
The Day of the Jackal
Barbarella
All Fred and Ginger flicks
Most Marylin Monroe flicks
The Caine Mutiny
A Chorus Line
Gunga Din
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Eye of the Needle
Coupling (the British 4 season TV comedy)Fame
Gotcha
Heist
Huff (both seasons)
All Tarentino which have not yet been done
Jurassic Park trilogy
Kalifornia
The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Charles Laughton)
Prime Suspect (all 7 episodes)
The Year of Living Dangerously
Little Shop of Horrors (Frank Oz)
What's Eating Gilbert Grape
The Man Who Would Be King
Most Clint Eastwood directed films which have not yet made the
transition
A Little Trip to Heaven
Midnight Run
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
The Philadelphia Story
The Thomas Crown Affair (Pierce Brosnan)
Slaughterhouse Five
Moulin Rouge (Jose Ferrer)
The Station Agent
Mutiny on the Bouty (Charles Laughton)
The Professional
Psycho
The good Indiana Jones flicks (1 and 3)
Touching the Void
Under Suspicion (Gene Hackman)
The Wizard of Oz
Young Sherlock Holmes
The 3 original Star Wars

to name a few.

Who knows what secret copy protection software Sony puts on its Blu-

I have way more than 3 and not all classics.

I'd like to see nice widescreen (Blu-ray) versions of some of their full
frame/non anamorphic releases like, The Man with Two Brains, Innocent Blood,
Ricochet and Spies Like Us.

I'd like to see Blu ray upgrades for Empire of the Sun, Demolition Man,
Heat, The Devil's Advocate (with the images unblurred), Little Shop of
Horrors (with color alternate ending), The Neverending Story 1 & 2, Time
After Time, Supergirl, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and Stay Tuned. I want
any existing special features ported over and new special features created
for those that don't have any.

I'm not sure if it's a Warner Title or not (I think they held the rights at
one point) but I really want to see Electric Dreams finally released.

Oh my....
You're one of those poor 'unblown' people who think a *blow* job means you
'actually' blow aren't you...

ANYONE who has performed fellation on a dead goat will tell you the same
thing...

You DON'T blow !!!

(Unless you want it to inflate.. but then if it *Does* inflate you MUST
remember that some of that air is gonna come back out, and, what with it
being a DEAD goat.. well.. lets just say there is probably gonna be some
seepage...)

;' )))

Heh... This one's just stupid isn't it?
Whatever happened to the *subtle* trolls of yesteryear?
They were FUN to play with!
This one's just.... well... pathetic really...
Shame...

Oh well, no actual fun to be had with those who are too... sadly... THICK to
get it...
We now return you to your usual usenet traffic... Buh-bye...

No. A total retard.

Nothing you ever did involved thinking. We can extend that to your
parents as well.

Capitalization make you feel more important, dipshit? Just to let you
know,,, the content is far more important, and you do not have ANY
content, dumbfuck.

No. You only give birth to dingleberries, so you will never be able to
make such cigar lighting statements.

Good then. Does that mean that you and your pathetic, retarded
"contributions" to the group will cease, and you will go back to your
rock?

Tell us about YOUR "family" Lever. You are a single, lonely douchebag
without any chance for a partner - not even a nappy headed ho guy
befitting your tribe! Your obesity, BO and complexion drive people
from you in droves. Those who stay, leave as soon as you open your
foul mouth. Dogs and cats puke when they come near you. There is no
valid reason for you to continue to live. Consider offing yourself.
If you do, Allah has a big surprise for you. No, it's not 72 virgins
- anyone can get that. You get 144 syphilis-infested, maggot-filled,
homosexual goat-fuckers who will abuse your sphincter for eternity -
just the way you like it..
