CorePlayer: Worked Under 32-bit XP. Not Undere Windows 7?

Just installed CorePlayer on my "New" (well, new, to me at
least... a refurb'd HP p6-2107c running Windows 7 SP1).
It opened .MP4 files a-ok under XP, but on the new box nothing
happens except that CorePlayer's window opens with the progress
pointer at the end instead of the beginning.
Am I out of luck here? Or maybe something about video codecs?
