Juan,

Set-top players will ignore virtually all of the extra folders, but
computers with DVD-ROM drives commonly use additional directories / folders
on the DVD for doing computer-only things. There is at least one reserved
directory name for holding pictures / scans of DVD art work which some
set-top players can recognize and use to display the cover and liner
information, but I cannot recall what its' exact name is.

I have one disk that has a folder called JACKET_P, which holds three
pictures in the form of .mp2 files. Nero burned it with no problem in
DVD-Video mode.

I've seen plenty of DVD-Video discs (Commercial ones) with extra data in
folders other than AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS. FWIH You can only put the vob file
set in the VIDEO_TS folder, AND NOTHING ELSE. The rest of the data can go
elsewhere.

Many programs which make DVD slide shows put the original JPG's in alternate
folders on the discs. Otherwise Software DVD players and Web extras are also
placed onto discs.
