well I finally got around to adding my webcam video of the DTV change to
my You Tube page.like others have.

Nothing too dramatic but just my over the air view going thru the analog
stations scan and then the digital scan with the digital stream 9950 box.

On the last day June 12th 2009, I also noticed that day the analog
signals were booming strong. I got stations like never before, even from
the Hartford,CT area. I think they boosted power that day before sign-off.

There would have been no reason to boost power on the analog signals
that day. However, there were many reports of coincidental atmospheric
conditions that were excellent for long-distance reception that day.

I thought that too, maybe just the atmosphere that day, but it was too
unusual.

I got stations from NYC,Hartford,New Haven, even New Jersey stations
which never were received before all of them so clear and no static,
really weird that there were so many stations.

And this was with an indoor antenna, too bad it wasn't like that all the
time.

I think they did boost the signal in that final hour before the switch
to make sure it was noticed.

(I used to SWLDX so I know how difficult it can be to get a signal.)

Indeed it was.

And I noticed a few days ago that someone in Southern California
reported getting a British Columbia station. So there have been
some great DXing conditions recently!
