Interesting DTV arrangement in MSP

MINNESOTA/WISCONSIN:
KMSP/FOX 9 and WFTC/My 29 (Minneapolis) have made a change that could help
viewers having difficulty receiving KMSP since the station moved from
digital channel 26 to 9 in June. Each station had previously carried both
an HD feed and SD feed; the two stations now have swapped their SD feeds,
which now remap to the other channel number. So, WFTC continues to carry
its HD programming on 29.1, while a WFTC subchannel carries KMSP-SD, which
remaps to 9.2, and vice-versa for KMSP. Many receivers will update
automatically without the viewer's knowledge, but some older receivers may
need to be rescanned to receive 9.2 and 29.2. (11/12/2009)

That's clever.
KQED and KTEH (which are sister stations) do something similar:
each station's signal is carried on a digital subchannel of the
other station. KTEH doesn't have an HD feed, so their signals
from both the San Francisco and Fremont transmitters are SD;
KQED is available in HD from the SF xmtr and in SD from Fremont.

KMBC-DT 9 (temporarily on VHF 7) was required to have a
weaker signal to the west, so KMBC (4:3 SDTV) was also sent
on KCWE-DT 29.2 (labeled 9.3 since KMBC-DT was already using
9.1 and 9.2).
I never checked to see what actual RF channel was providing
9.3, I assumed a 3 program multicast from KMBC-DT.
During a storm, KCWE-DT went off the air but KMBC-DT stayed
on, that's how I found out that the program labeled 9.3
wasn't being transmitted by KMBC-DT.
(KMBC-DT is now on UHF 29, so KCWE-DT uses 29.2 for "THIS
TV")
