One way to find out if there's a DTV broadcast in a
particular channel is to tune an analog TV to that channel.

The "snow" in the channel containing a DTV broadcast is
noticeably whiter than the snow in an empty channel.

This method could be useful for finding DTV broadcasts in
various directions when traveling in an RV, for example.

I see a couple channels that have whiter snow than adjacent channels
yet the converter box[es] still finds no digital channels. There's got
to be something else. 55, for example, has something on it, probably
the qualcom digital tv service, that appears black with popping audio
and blows out adjacent channels in both directions.
