I had been in town I would have suggested dinner. I almost considered
coming out last minute but G said we had been on 7 planes in two weeks

8:30 until after 5, so all I saw were the folks at Wynn.

arrived, WHY would they be dressed like that, at that time of the morning,
especially when it was as cool as it was? Could they have been there all

I've had a lot of Strip time lately (for me) and I'm supposed be at the
Bellagio in a couple of weeks too. (The rest had all been Wynn, Sands Expo &
Venetian. My car can get me to those places and back all by itself now.)

Of all the nightclub going women I've dropped off -- and seen being dropped
off -- the ones at the Wynn are without question the finest.... Ah, to be
young, handsome and rich.
BTW, walked by Jet (Mirage) on the way to the parking garage Saturday night.
There were precious few head-turners in line. The crowd looked much like a
herd of cattle with a "please, please let me in" look in their eye.
PS to Tom,
I don't know what the numbers were at SEMA. Memos were circulated just
prior to the beginning of the show stating the expected numbers had
increased from 80,000 to 100,000. (But the Las Vegas Convention and
Visitors Authority *always* lies about the numbers.)
I had one passenger who claimed to be the web mistress for SEMA but didn't
know the attendance. Most said it was as good or better than expected but I
did pick up one vendor from Sands who said he'd never seen the convention
hall's aisles so devoid of bodies. Judging from the cab lines the
attendance at LVCC was far greater than at the Sands.
Business was better last week than it's been in a long time. But, in
addition to SEMA, there were several other things going on. And, I noted,
there was a larger number of "touristy types" than usual during a large
convention. Room prices must still have been relatively low last week.

The SEMA website said that 12% less tickets had been requested and booth
space was 23% less than last year. Although down, officials projected an
attendance of around 121,000 this year.
I think that would be an interesting show to attend, eventhough I wouldn't
be buying any new products I saw.

1. I don't believe you - where are the pictures? :-)
2. If we had pictures, then we, the fashion maven men of AVLV, could
provide some insight as to their uniform.

LOL! We were asked to not bring cameras.
That said, one girl was wearing a brief summer type dress and she was
walking with a young man who was wearing shorts and a tank top. The
other girls were sitting at the bar and were with young men wearing
sport coats.
I'm guessing that the first couple just assumed that they were going to
the desert, that it would therefore be hot and packed accordingly. They
got dressed without consulting a weather report from any source. When I
saw them, they were walking through the casino. The other folks may well
have still been out from the previous evening. Remember, this was about
8:30 AM, the outside temperature was probably in the 50's.
