I know about the Seafood buffet at the Rio and I hear the Belagio is very
good. Does anyone have any other suggestions ? I love King Crag legs
I think the buffet in Planet Hollywood is the same as when it was
Aladdin, and for my money the best in town. Wynn has a great buffet as
well.
Do a search on AVLV for "best buffets" and you will see oodles of
threads dedicated to this subject.

Bellagio, Wynn, Paris are all excellent. Assuming Planet Hollywood
haven't messed with it, Doc is right, it's among the best in town (and a
fair bit cheaper than Bellagio). It offers a much wider variety of food
than any other.
Assuming you have a car, the higher end station properties (Red Rock,
Green Valley) also have excellent buffets.

Also, the "Seasons" buffet at Silverton has a wide variety and is
quite reasonable.
Others have given good suggestions. More info on buffets here...

Can anyone address the O.P.'s interest in king crab legs specifically?

I just called Planet Ho and confirmed that the Spice Market buffet still
features king crab legs (and one of my faves, oysters on the half shell)
daily during DINNER.

Last time I was at Harrah's Buffet the crab legs were large and luscious.
That was May 2007, though - things may have changed.

While this is probably not something folks might want to do, for some
reason we have King Crab in the Albertson's stores at a typically
ridiculous price of $10/#. This is NOT for the little legs you find in
most buffets, but legs that weigh in around 1# per leg. I've never been
to another city where they're so common and so typically low priced.
We've had guests in from out of town who have purchased them on sale,
still flash frozen, and wrapped them in several layers of towels to take
back home. While I doubt if someone would want to rent a car, find an
Albertson's where they're on sale and take them back to the hotel for a
feast, grabbing some to take back home might make sense.
FWIW, when we have company, I'll typically buy and shell out one leg per
people, serving the whole meat 'sticks' in iced gazpacho with a twig of
cilantro for color. Talk about showing off, and with virtually no work.

A penny saved is obviously a
government oversight.
$26 for dinner isn't bad if you load up on crab legs.
I did Spice Market twice, back when it was still the Aladdin. I know
once was for lunch; the other might have been dinner but I can't recall
what I had. I do remember getting $5 off for lunch with a coupon
printed on the back of the valet parking ticket. They also had their
menus available online back then.

Ate so many there last year, wound up in the hospital
But they were good!

No one eats more buffets in Vegas than we do:
1. Bellagio
2. Wynn (best King Crab)
3. Planet Ho
4. Paris
5. Main Street Station
6. Orleans

I think you had a mis communication with whoever answered the phone.
They along with most of the buffets have snow crab. King Crab is in another
league being at least an inch or two thick, and only at Bellagio and Wynn as
far as I know. Wynn is the best I've ever had. They slice them in half and
desalt them. Add hot drawn butter.... UNREAL!

I assume Bellagio and Wynn serve the king crab legs at dinner only,
correct? Have you ever gone in at the lunch price and stuck around for
dinner?
Also, do you know if Bellagio dinner buffet serves the king crab legs
every day or just for the higher-priced "gourmet" dinner on Fri-Sat?

I hear Wynn is good too, but man, so expensive!

I cannot comment yet on Wynn, but other than swapping 5 and 6, I agree with
you.
Slowly making its rise again however is the Rampart. Please give it a try
and let me know your opinion (which is one of the few I respect here.)
Best price vs quality I think remains Orleans, but MSS is pretty close..

Ah now I have a new place to check for our June trip, thanks!

The only thing you can't get during the week is the rack of baby
lamb..... also unreal! I find that Bellagio's King Crag is a tad salty and
fishy. Wynn's was absolute perfection. There's so much other great stuff at
Bellagio that you do yourself a diservice to fill up on any one thing. It
may sound low rent but our vacation is dictated by what 2 for 1 buffet
coupons we have. The exception is one of the top buffets. We haven't had
too many bad meals on the strip.

oh lamby, my lamby, i'd walk a million miles...
When are you coming here?
I have the book with $5 off coupons for Harrahs, Flamingo, or Caesars Palace
buffets which all expire at the end of this month..

Thanks Walt... looks like it's not as big a problem as I thought. We got
rejected the first place we used one, so I was really wondering how bad it
was?
