Excellent choice of sites. Alan, you have to save this post and use it
to give all future newbies.
As you say, there is nothing wrong with being a newbie, but when they
come here and ask vague questions with no specificity there is no way
to answer their questions. These sites give them the opportunity to do
a little research by themselves.
