I have stayed at the Flamingo dozens of times, and I find it to be a
very friendly hotel. The location is ideal, and the rates are usually
very reasonable. My only complaint is that depending on where your room
is, it can be quite a hike to the elevators.

Be sure to apply for a players club card because they will give you the
casino rate fairly easily---this reduces the rate to $48 sun-thurs and
$68 Fri-Sat.

We just got back from a stay at Bally's and would rate it the best of
the three. Flamingo has the nicest pool, but that's about it. Check the
ratings at http://www.lvol.com/ and you will see what others think.
When it comes to food, Bally's is easily the best of the three. You also
have the monorail to MGM, or a short walk across the street (take the
overhead walkway) to Bellaggio. Unfortunately, there is no overhead
walkway from the Flamingo, so you have to stand on the corner and dodge
traffic with the walk light that lasts about three seconds (I timed it).
From Bellaggio, you can also take the tram to the Monte Carlo. That's a
lot of plusses in favor of Bally's. While Bally's pool does not stand up
to the Flamingo, it is decent.

We have stayed at many of the fancy ones... two years ago tried the
Flamingo, liked it, returned last year and will return in September.
GREAT pool.

Can someone tell me which tower at the Flamingo is the newest tower? I would
like to know what I should request. I assume the newest is the best.
Helllllppppp! Thanks

I would rate them fairly close. Bally's would win by a nose. Tie for
second. Go with best deal

Hi,
I've stayed at both Flamingo & Bally's, and I've been inside a friend's
Harrah's room. These are just my opinions:

LOCATION: All three have excellent, mid-strip locations. Not much
difference here, actually.

PRICE: I'd say Flamingo & Bally's are comparable to each other;
Harrah's is slightly less expensive. All are good values for the money,
especially if you can find discounted rooms.

POOLS: Flamingo pools are GORGEOUS, lush, landscaped. Bally's pool
didn't look particularly spectacular (I stayed there in January, so I
didn't actually go in the pool.) Don't know about Harrah's. Still, my
money's on the Flamingo for this one.

CASINOS: I like the layout of Bally's casino a lot - it's a big
rectangle, not too confusing. Flamingo layout is labyrinthine and
confusing, but there are some windows(!) Haven't played at Harrah's,
but I hear their "party pit" table games are fun!! All three have
higher table minimums than I like to play. Flamingo slots/VP seemed
very tight to me.

ROOMS: Of all the rooms, I liked the Flamingo best. Bally's room (king)
was somewhat bigger, but a little worn and shabby. Harrah's room (the
one I visited) was pretty small, and had tacky, bright orange & purple
accents! Flamingo (double) room was reasonably spacious, nice decor,
nice view of the lush pool area.

ELEVATOR WAIT TIMES: these were unreasonably long at Bally's. Flamingo
elevator waiting times were short.

STAFF: I preferred the staff at the Flamingo. Got some
weirdness/attiutde at Bally's. Again, this was just my experience.

FACILITIES: I MUCH prefer Bally's buffet to Flamingo's, but that isn't
dependent on where you stay.

OVERALL: I'd probably stay at any of the three, but all things being
equal I'd pick Flamingo (I'm staying there this July!) For a winter
trip, I might pick Harrah's if I could get a better deal there, since
pools wouldn't be an issue.

Good luck!
Abby

Harrhas is fun but the hotel is a victim of a holiday inn buyout with
too many remodels. Both Ballys and Flamingo are classics owned by
hilton. I would go with the Flamingo because they have a fantastic
pool.

The newest FH tower is the one that's farthest northward--that is towards O'shey's and above the hotel's tour lobby. I believe the
room numbers in this tower start around XX150 or so (with XX being the floor).

Mike - Do you know if the rooms are nicer in the new tower? Are they bigger?
Thanks

Without having actually measured them, I'd have to say that the rooms in the new FH tower are the same size as the others. The wall
colors ( light blue) and carpeting are much nicer, the TV's are all newer models (with closed-caption decoders). Ditto the
furniture--the TV is on drawer/swivel stand allowing comfy viewing from anywhere in the room. On the downside, although this was a
few years ago, I noticed that these rooms lacked the closet safe for valuables that is found in all the older ones.

On my last trip, I had noticed that the hotel was refurbishing some of the older areas with the same new colors and carpeting.

You say Bally's has the best food... which restaurants do you recommend at
Bally's?
