Seems I'm getting a lot of these error messages when I
manually download emails. I have five email accounts.
Sometimes email is downloaded for some of the accounts, but
not all. Sometimes email for all accounts are downloaded
successfully. It seems random. All settings are correct,

Number of connections

Have a querstion.
Under servers I have maximum # of connections set to 2, reserved set
to 1. When downloading lots of messages I get hundereds of connections
opened. See the screen shot on the link for detail. Why does this

keep messages gone

Hi Agent 7
1......In alt.Usenet.offline-reader.fort e-agent I had a load of messages that I had a KEEP icon on
them so I did not lose them every time I got new headers.
2.....Now for some reason I looked at the icon in folders and it had changed to a yellow icon and

Sending attachements to binary groups

I normally use PowerPost to post files to binary newsgroups but this
evening I tried sending a .jpg. I composed the message, clicked on the
"Attachments" button, navigated to the folder where the image was, and
attached it. The message and the attachment came through fine so far

Is each release perfect and bug-free?

There never seem to be any patches within a major upgrade, v6 and v7
spring to mind. Any release/upgrade/bug fix now seems to be a paid
upgrade.
Surely each version MUST contain bugs? Why does the developer not fix
them? I am not a power user by any means, and purchase upgrades as a
way of supporting Forte. I'm beginning to feel cheated and do not... more »

HTML View Problem

Whenever I view an eMail in HTML and it has images, I have to use the
[Download images] option on the Info Bar at the top of Read Pane EVEN
when the sender is in my Address Book and HTML Images ARE approved.
I've reported this as a bug to Forté.

Is there any way to clear the Completed Task and Error lists in Task
Manager Window?

a way to automatically delete .dat files?

When I look into the Data file in Agent 1.93 I find multiple large
,dat files. I have been manually deleting them when individual files
reach excessive size, but wonder if there might be a way to configure
Agent's settings to automatically delete them when closing the

It takes too long to download multiple binary messages

I download a lot of movies and TV shows from a.b.movies.divx and a.b.multimedia using Agent 6.00/32,
Giganews with "Max connections = 20" and a 25 Mb/s Comcast connection.
Most of the movies are broken into 50 RAR's of about 14,649 MB each. If I select one RAR and press
"A" to download it, it takes between 7 and 12 seconds. (I'd say the average is about 8 seconds.)... more »
