Tested the approach using 5 addresses and it seemed to work OK in
that they were hidden to the recipients.
Just sent out a series of emails with many addresses in BCC.
But when these hit my inbox, I'm seeing the BCC list.
My kneejerk reaction is that everybody on the BCC list is also
seeing all those addresses.

Bcc: tEscks@... plus about fifty more....
Dear Classmate:
This is a form letter/mass mailing to let people know that
pictures from the 50th reunion are now available online.

I'm hoping this is just an artifact of my being the recipient.
Or have I maybe violated something in the BCC standard by making
To: and From: the same address?

Top-posting on purpose on this one:
Did you use Agent to email?
In Thunderbird a BCC email you addressed to yourself should NOT have
any BCC names/addresses visible. But the "sent" copy in your sent/out
folder *will* have those BCC addresses visible.

My guess is that what you are seeing in the inbox is the saved copy of your
sent message, and not a copy which you downloaded from your mail server.
This suggest to me that you may have a check-mark in the setting
"File replies in same folder as original message".

If those are the _full_ headers of the message, then they don't
look like the headers which would be in the (uploaded) copy that
others and you would download from the mail server. For one
thing, they are missing
(a) The MIME headers which Agent adds to the uploaded copy
but not to the saved copy of the sent message
(b) The "Received:" headers, which mail servers add.
If you aren't showing the _full_ headers, then it is a bit hard
to give any kind of analysis.
The headers which Agent uploads are different to the headers in
the saved copy of the sent message. The saved copy of the sent message
includes the Bcc header (so you can resend the message if needed)
but does not include MIME headers or headers added by the mail server.
