I normally use PowerPost to post files to binary newsgroups but this
evening I tried sending a .jpg. I composed the message, clicked on the
"Attachments" button, navigated to the folder where the image was, and
attached it. The message and the attachment came through fine so far
as I could see but one of the other members in the group said it was
"missing filename and extension". And so it was. I also noticed that
the image wasn't automatically saved to the default folder as images
posted by other members of the group are: I have to right click on the
image and choose "Save as"; neither of the "Save all" options seem to
do anything.

For those on Giganews, there are two examples of the problem in
giganews.test.binary: subject lines are "Luke! Luke!" and "Try 2".

Something in my setup is wrong. Can anyone help fix it?

TIA

Should be "this evening I tried sending a .jpg with Agent" of course.
Sorry.

In Folder | Properties | Posting Messages | Usenet Attachments
make sure that
[X] Include attachment filename in subject
(applies to single attachments only)
is checked, and that you have only one attachment.
