a way to automatically delete .dat files?

When I look into the Data file in Agent 1.93 I find multiple large
,dat files. I have been manually deleting them when individual files
reach excessive size, but wonder if there might be a way to configure
Agent's settings to automatically delete them when closing the
program. I have no reason to save any of the messages contained in
these files once read.

When to purge

These may be overridden in individual Group | Properties.

And every time you do that, you find that you have lost ALL of your
data for their corresponding newsgroups.

Group \ [Default] Properties \ What To Purge
Group \ [Default] Properties \ When To Purge.

To get any space back, you will have to compact after the purge.
