I've used Agent for a long time for Usenet. It was often behind other
programs as far as it's ability to handle html and files was concerned but I
like it better than any other program. I thought it's not allowing html
was an actual plus for usenet use. I'm now using it to also read and post
to private email groups on google because I can create the same look as a
usenet group.

I'm trying to configure it's email to be able to post pictures in the
message bodies. Is anyone familiar with doing this? I tried setting
default properties settings for outgoing email but so far it hasn't worked.
The pictures appear fine if I send with Agent to my gmail or hotmail
accounts. I tried this first to test it out. The problem was it didn't
work with inline pictures on google's groups. Others using Thunderbird's
email client have it working with the default settings but I'd prefer
sticking with Agent.

A. Thunderbird's default settings correspond to Agent's
attachment placement = "Inline MIME section".
Try that with Agent.

If that doesn't work, see 'B'.

B. As far as I know, Google Groups does not accept embedded images
in messages. That includes "Inline MIME section".

To post an image to Google Groups, it has to be a remote HTML image.
Which means you have to compose in HTML, and also set the
HTML image's properties to 'link to the image on the web, instead of
attaching the image to the message' (or whatever your HTML editor
calls it).

Agent does not have a built-in HTML editor. But you can use Agent
to post HTML messages with remote HTML images, by using the
following technique
1. Use a separate HTML editor to create the HTML message
body (.htm file) with _remote_ HTML images.
2. Follow the method described in Agent's help file at

Thank you, Ralph.

I will ask someone who has done it. Perhaps they were using the html method
rather than sending the image in the email itself.

Cheers
