There never seem to be any patches within a major upgrade, v6 and v7
spring to mind. Any release/upgrade/bug fix now seems to be a paid
upgrade.

Surely each version MUST contain bugs? Why does the developer not fix
them? I am not a power user by any means, and purchase upgrades as a
way of supporting Forte. I'm beginning to feel cheated and do not
intend to upgrade unless it is extensive in scope.

How many bugs have you found and reported?

I was an early beta tester back in the day, I found two bugs and made
one feature request. Both bugs were fixed and my feature request, the
"Open Attachment Folder" command was implemented very soon after
reporting or in the next release. I thought Fort was being very
responsive.

Everyone must make their own choice as to whether the price of an
update is worth what they get for it.

There is no such thing as bug-free software.

Forte does fix major issues in maintenance releases. There haven't
been any such problems in a while. Minor fixes, however, are merely
rolled into the next feature-release.

Like any purchase choice, that is your decision.

I did not say I want free upgrades. I just made the point that for the
past few versions there have not been any bug fixes/maintenance
releases (call them what you will) in between paid upgrades.

That explains why support emails go unanswered ;-).

Bug free???

Even a 65k car is not bug free so why should 400 software be bug free
let along a $29 one.
