I am stunned and dismayed to learn that crisp, refreshing Aspen soda is
(according to the 'Boy, They Were Good, But...' section of
www.hometownfavorites.com) no longer available anywhere at any price. I weep
for humanity as I step into the bath and open my veins.
Goodbye.

I didn't know him that well, but I can't help thinking that this
was meant as a Grand Gesture, a Last Laugh. Like Oscar Wilde and
the wallpaper. For most of us, Usenet is just a sparrow fart in
life's typhoon. But I know I'll remember this for the rest of my
daze.
Death will come when thou art dead,
Soon, too soon--
Sleep will come when thou art fled;
Of neither would I ask the boon
I ask of thee, beloved Night--
Swift be thine approaching flight,
Come soon, soon!
(Shelley, "To Night")
