Merkel, a silly, drole character. What do you think, English? He will
September 22 election lead us to Victory against the hated Gehard Schroder!

What happened the last time the CDU put forward a candidate? Didn't
they get completely and utterly humiliated?

That said it was clear the right would never be convinced by Merkel,
who had good appeal to the centre and centre-left and could possibly
have won, but only at the price of fracturing the coalition on the
right.
