It should have been a draw IMO. However, Jackson proved his power
early on . . . and then, especially in the 5th round, he looked as if
he had no more fighter / warrior spirit left in him. He was timid and
backing away. I don't understand. Not his style. At all.

Jackson seem to hold back every time he stunned Griffon and he did not even
seem disappointed that he lost the title in the post fight interview. Very
weird fight. I need to watch it again, since I was cheering for Jackson,
maybe I did not give Griffon the credit he deserves. I will stop short of
saying it was "fixed" but Jackson did not behave like he had a vested
interest in winning.

I am not going to declare at this point it is outright "fixed" cause I
don't have the evidence but I am not so sure how hard it would be to be
"influenced". Who knows what Dana's plans are. Here is half a mill.
under the table Rampage --in addition to the purse, you know. THERE ARE
SO MANY KILLER MATCH UPS WE SHOULD/COULD BE SEEING! It makes you wonder.

I have NEVER seen Jackson fight like that before. 2 to 3 punches,
then back off. Then in the 5th round . . . the most important round
. . . back off completely and simply stop throwing. Then tell Rogan
"He kicked my ass". Jackson has lost my respect. My honest opinion?
He threw the fight.

You got to wonder. I have only seen about 5-6 of Rampage's fights on Fox
Sports but I never ordered any Pride stuff. Does he usually act so
overly dramatic in his entrance to the ring? I thought it was a pretty
cheesy act. I don't think the fights are fixed per se but I can see Dana
"floating" some ideas and options and scenarios and such about. It could
be as innocent as Dana making an off handed comment like if it goes the
distance or if it's close he will definitely be guaranteed a rematch or
something. I know if I am Rampage I'd be thinking about sticking another
1/4 million or whatever in my pocket.

Correct. I'll say it. It was rigged.

<slowly sipping my coffee> Bwahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!! <pause> sniff-
sniff......bwahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!! This is 'almost' too
much.<shaking my head and rolling my eyes> Is it always like this in
here when the favorite gets his ass kicked. In all seriousness- I am
just curious. Any of the veterans in here- can you tell me if this is
a common occurence because if it is the groups credibility (a few of
the posters) has hit rock bottom. I can just picture if this was all
reversed around- the exact same thing- I bet it wouldn't get all the
posts. <sigh>

I guess I'm STILL dreaming that I saw a fight wherein Jackson's left
leg got hurt pretty badly early on and he spent the rest of the fight
favoring it. Either that or a lot of people in this group don't really
understand the mechanics of a punch and think it's all in the arms.
Apparently the scene in the movie "Roadhouse" where Sam Elliot's
character kicks a guy in the knee and then looks down at him squirming
on the floor and remarks "Damn, that hurts, don't it?" is passed off
as mere fiction by them. The movie was bullshit, but that scene is the
one grain of absolute truth in the entire thing.

Maybe he was trying to protect what was left of his legs.

It was his /left/ leg, from the outcome you'd of thought it was his
right. I agree though Jackson sucked it up.

Yeah. From recent experience I can tell you there is nothing like a blow
right on the center of the kneecap especially from the corner of a steel
door. I was down for the count. If you count for 15-20 minutes that is.

I think that's the second time you said that. What exactly is the
bubble? I know what I think you are wanting it to mean. This isn't
blowing anything up- to you it is though- because you talked crap all
the time leading up to the fight. Now here is what you will do next-
you will just keep saying the same thing because unless Forrest never
loses another fight in the history of his life then you will be right.
<sigh> Incredible- it was only one fight.<shaking my head>

That would not be necessary. Successfully defending his title
against people like Liddell, Wand, or ASS would be a start.

Who was that guy from Kansas basketball? Did you see his knee
cave in? The photo was almost impossible to look at.
