From what I saw, it was not a good fight unless you are a member of the
Forrest Griffin fan club.

Well- I think you either wanted or thought
Rampage........err.....should we call him something else now- I don't
think the nick fits because he ran into the Gumpster...lol. I will be
the judge if it wasn't a great fight- I might look at it a little
differently than you. ;-) Forrest should have took his chain along
with the belt.

But you didn't see all 5 rounds, did you?

Rampage took rounds 1 & 4, in my eyes. Griffin took round 2
(convincingly), and round 3 and 5 were toss-ups. Again, this is in my
eyes.

There is no way this fight was as lopsided as the judges made it
seem. Credit to Rampage for not complaining, & credit to Griffin for
fighting a tough fight.. No way Liddell gets a shot before Rampage
gets a rematch.

My assessment as well. Jackson nearly KO'd Griffin with an
uppercut, in round 1. Jackson apparently rocks Griffin again
in round 4.

(By being allowed to lay on top of Jackson for the entire
round, while feigning elbow aggression)

These were rounds Gump apparently won conveying the impression
of aggression by continuously throwing leg kicks. No
substantial damage done to Jackson.

Correct.

>Credit to Rampage for not complaining,

Somehow he must have got up in the hype that Griffin just
deserves to be champion, that seems to permeate the lame
brained.

>& credit to Griffin for

Shame on Jackson for not putting him away.

No way Griffin ever owns this division. He'll be lucky if he
can pull off a title defense, IMHO. If market research
reveals Griffin will sell more merchandise and PPV's, their
challenge will be figuring out ways to keep people like ASS
away from Gump.

Forest should have gotten a LOT more than the belt and the chain. Didn't
Jackson say during the RUF show that he guaranteed the fight would not go to
a decision and in fact. "I would bet my whole purse it doesn;t go to a
decision." If I were FG I go visiting with my hand held out <G> Take care

It was 3 rounds to 2 on the judges scorecards. 48-47 though I believe on
judge had it 48-46, Not exactly lopsided. In fact pretty close. I thought
after all the hype about how FG would get mauled he held his own
convincingly. Take care

You didn't see QJ limping? After that round he was staggering and at the end
of the fight he was still limping. That is damage in my book. Take care

Thank you! I was starting to wonder if I just dreamed the fight
wherein Griffin's continued kicks to Jackson's left leg had Jackson
having to raise the leg and pivot with the kick on his right foot to
keep from going down and where with the exception of a few flurries of
punches (that the conventional wisdom would have any of which knocking
Forrest out, BTW) Quinton was backing up to try to keep that leg from
being kicked even more. Rampage might not have thought much of the
rather decent punches Forrest was also landing (which also would have
done some serious damage to an opponent not as hard-headed as Quinton)
but that leg kick pretty much did the fight for him early on. Sounds
like there are some people here who would have the fight go to Jackson
on the basis a couple of decent punches when it was pretty obvious
that Griffin was the primary aggressor and most effective striker for
>most< of the fight.

DUDE CAN'T YOU SEE THIS SHIT IS NOW AS ORCHESTRATED AS A SOAP OPERA? Liddell and his but buddy Dana White were buddies before Liddell-Rampage1 Did he even own the UFC then? Liddell is getting his title back plain and simple. Like Forrest is really the CHAMP-- the best 205 out there.-- NOT EVEN CLOSE!

I always underestimate Rishad, because it seems like he always
just barely wins. But then he keeps on doing it against
better and better competition. There's a chance Liddell might
not get past Rishad.

He should be bumming, he's lost 2 out of his last three.

One judge had it 49-46. That's the one that stood out to me. I
thought it should have been either 48-47 Rampage or 47-47 (draw). The
49-46 for Forest threw me for a loop...I could see 48-47 Forest, but
not 49-46.
