Welcome Angela!

Have a Gabri-ale and some nutbread, on the house. Feel free
to ::drool:: anywhere. There are always new trenches being
dug (generally by new recruits heh heh). The semi-annual
::thudding:: contest should start any day now. As the newest
recruit you get a handicap - we'll lock Dawn in the kitchen. :)

Gang, say Howdy to Angela!

Ares isn't dark or sinister. He's simply a god doing his job. War
itself isn't a picnic. But he does his job the best way he knows how.
He is carrying out his duties as assigned to him by his father, Zeus.

I can see no reason why Joxer shouldn't fit among the GHD'ers. He fits
in SO nicely! Hey, he might even be the archetypical GHD'er! <vbeg>

And - just maybe - he might make friends with SherrieB (Doesn't he fall
easy for godesses?), Gail (Maybe he knows some stew against fireant
bites?) and even Paul (Sharing admiration & MGD). :-)

Say, what is it with you? You seem so...

Hopefully there is about as much chance of Gabrielle joining Ares as there
is of her shagging Joxer, virtually nil I hope.

:::ASTUD mode on:::

I would say there is a far greater chance of her joining Ares than
shagging Joxer.

:::ASTUD mode off:::

Actually, I think it would depend upon the situation. Gabrielle would
join with Ares if it meant that her goal would be achieved. Of course,
they would literally be using each other.

Not really... Joxer and his beautiful godly love for Gabs, hardly fits in
with animals and their primitive obsession... <eg>

As you said, Ares would have to do the convincing, so any union (I
prefer to think of it as an aliance) with Ares would be on Gabrielle's
terms, not his. Point to the GGG, 15-love.

Sorry, I don't recognize you, even though you have written that you are
part of the GGGHD. Either you're a newbie to this group or you must've
left before I came out here.

As for what I wrote, it was sheer speculation and simply an off-handed
comment.

As to your score - :-p~~~~. <bg>

After countless incarnations, Ares will eventually join Gabrielle, in her
final, teleological manifestaion, as the Great Goddess of Mercy (`The Price`)
and Halcyon (`Mortal Beloved`). See, Ares' declining influence (see `Deja Vu
All Over Again`) will eventually bring him to despair, which is the sickness
unto death. But he's immortal, so there's no way out for him except an
awakening to Gabrielle-consciousness.

(non ASTUD mode)

In some ways, you have a point. Yet we know TPTB hadn't really used him
properly in the last few seasons until this one.

In the 20th century, if the gods were indeed still around, I think that
Ares would've found more satisfaction in things other than redoing
computers for Y2K. There are enough revolutions, etc. going on to
interest him for a long time.

I admit, I would've liked to have seen him put his abilities to work
with something like NATO. He's a master strategist with centuries of
experience behind him. He likes war, it's ingrained in him, and I
thoroughly believe that, given the right opportunity, he just might put
that ability to work for a group such as NATO. Sure, NATO works for
peace, but let's face it, war will always be with us as long as people
find that words do not suffice to win their arguements.

Hm, are we facing inter-service rivalry? The MOB vs the
FOBT? Bo, are you large enough (in a metaphorical sense
only, of course) to encompass us all?

And Bo? Nobody satisfies and I mean NOBODY satisfies like
Gabrielle. <eg> She is generous enough to share, however, so
feel free to contact GGGHD recruits. They know where their
first loyalty lies (if they know what's good for them).

The latter, actually. I first started posting to ATX a few months
after its inception, and I am one of the charter members of the GGGHD.
I stopped posting regularly after one of the annual ATX meltdowns (I
think it was Meltdown '97), then left the group entirely about a year
ago to persue other interests. I am now bored with those other
interests and so I've decided to come back to ATX.

ROTFL! Just what we need, more acronyms to confuse the

On a serious note, I believe the FOBT are a sub-group within

Ah . . . no. The only reason I joined or founded MOB in the
first place, well two reasons, is first because Bo's a nice
person, but second (and mostly) to harass someone who keeps
attacking Gabrielle (Bo's not doing the attacking). We all
have our cute little ways of harassing other fans.

The only ATX organization of which I am an official member
is the GGGHD.
