Ok, I saw the ep last night and I'm left with these thoughts. If Mulder and
that Billy kid were infected with that virus, they would come back to life
as alients (in human form I assume). That is what happened to Billy (again,
I'm assuming). So once Skully, Skinner, and Dogget find this out, they fail
to do anything about him, in fact, we don't even see that character any more
durring the episode. Now secondly, since Krycheck (SP??) smashed the
vaccine, it would be impossible to give it to mulder to stop him for coming
back as an alien. Yet, in the end of the episode, he comes back and acts as
normal as can be, Skully doesn't give any inclination that he's not Mulder.
Am I to assume that he's not an alien? How could this be since he didn't
have the vaccine and that magic guy didn't work any "Mumbo Jumbo" on him?
I know the truth is out there, someone fill me in :)
Troy
I thought Skully was able to rid him of the virus by taking him off life
support and giving him antibodies. Besides, I don't think he absolutely
needed the vaccine (assuming the vaccine wasn't a bluff, just to get skinner
to abort skully's alien baby), since that jeremiah smith guy was also able
to save them without the vaccine.

Scully said that she was going to treat Mulder with modern
"Anti-Viruals".
She seemed confident that should work. It seems that it did
work since Mulder didn't shed his skin like Billy did.
Even if it did work, maybe the virus is just gone to sleep
for awhile. We shall see ...

Mulder has already been given the vaccine in the fourth season episode
"Tunguska." We assume this deal was a dupe on Krycek's part to get close to
Scully (Skinner wouldn't have known Mulder's immunity to the virus)
However, as we learnt in the second season episodes "Colony/Endgame" and in
the movie, incubating aliens/the virus like high temperatures. And so by not
lowering Mulder's temperature the vaccine could not be effective. Once the
temperature was lowered, the vaccine kicked in.
Or, at least, we assume it did. This explenation assumes CC and FS actually
know what they're doing with the show's mythology, which is a rather stupid
assumption on my part I know :)
Phil.
I thought the episode required a lot of assuming myself. But I'll go with
that.
Thanks again,
Troy
