Scully at first find more dead bodies than real clues. Then, Mulder finds
the journal of photographer Henry Franklin and what Mulder discovers is
the astonishing, horrifying secret of what caused the mummies:somehow, the
camera is able to capture the photographed subject's life force-it's
soul-and feed the energy to a parasitic incubus. But what Mulder doesn't
realize is that the incubus has found a way to drain human energy without
the camera, and its latest victim is Scully. So while Mulder is finding
the truth-Scully is slowly being killed. It's up to Mulder to save his
partner, but the only way he can do that is to find the creature and
convince it to reverse the effect, a process that will cause the incubus
to die.
