Mykelti Williamson to join cast of '24'
Actor cast to play razor-sharp head of CTU New York

Mykelti Williamson is joining Fox's "24" as a regular.
On the 20th/Imagine series' upcoming eighth season set in New York, he
will play Brian Hastings, the MBA-type head of CTU New York who has a
razor-sharp intellect.
Williamson recently co-starred in the Sundance hit "Black Dynamite."
His series credits include "Boomtown" and "CSI:NY."
He is repped by Domain.

First heard of him in The Fugitive 2000 TV remake and then saw him in
Species II.

Well he was a regular on "Midnight Caller" way back in 1988, if I remember
properly he was an investigative reporter. That's when I remember him
first.
He's really had a long career, though I think less noticeable before
that. According to imdb, is first role was thirty years ago.
He was also on the "New WKRP" and played the social worker in "Free
Willy" and was "Bubba" in "Forrest Gump".
Fairly recently, he played the Police Chief on "CSI:NY" when they
needed such a character. I didn't think that character was particularly
likeable.

Nice casting. Very good actor. I haven't seen him in anything since
"Kidnapped".
This somewhat makes up for the Freddie Prinze Jr. casting. Still
scratching my head over that one.
