I think Angel and Vilma make a pretty good team with Edward.

The challanges were off-the-wall, but they pulled off a pleasing room. And
they still manage to come across as just plain nice people. The other room
looked pretty good as well, but they were painted into a corner on the
amoire and the TV. Too bad they couldn't cut the amoire down to a pair of
low-boys side by side.

And Paige seems to have visited a professional hairdresser (finally)!

Angel and Vilma were great! The other team couldn't adapt and didn't they
pay $2000 for $600 worth of furniture, just so they could call their
challenge met!

I voted for the yellow team. There wasn't much to differentiate this time.
They were about equivalent in annoying things (purple husband crying at the
end, and yellow wife's endless chatter about the male carpenters).

In the end, I went for the yellow team because the purple team didn't take
the opportunity to get rid of/modify the big ugly armoire/coffin, and
because they didn't unpack the new TV.

I was glad they brought in the past teams to help, instead of torturing them
with bogus overnight challenges alone again.

Well, with all the posts that show up here about the anatomy of the female
TS regulars, I think Vilma has every right to talk about the 'hunks' on
the TS carpentry team. It ceratinly looks like she and Angel are still
very much a couple.

Yeah -- the purple tem didn't have anyplace in the room to put the TV;
Angel and Vilma found a place (and, typical Edward room, the furniture was
*facing* it).

That was a good touch. I did think the fabric dartboard was a dumb idea
the second time. Imagine having $1100 dollars worth of drop-cloths if they
hadn't hit the silk again!

I'll be honest -- I left the room without pausing the Tivo in that
segment. I was impressed with the quantity (and apparent quality) of the
items Vilma and Angel ended up with for two grand.

And was that half a hardwood floor the lavenders did? I need to look at
that again as well.

I wonder what silly challenges they've got planned for the other
semi-final.

And what room are they going to do in the final? $15K to do a kitchen?
Finish unfinished basements (do they even DO basements in Orlando?) We've
already got the 42 inch plasma TV, so an 'entertainment' room/family room
doesn't seem to be an option. Wait -- I forgot what show we're talking
about; 42 inch TV in the living room and a 60 inch projection for the
family room would be about right for TS.

I thought this was a much tougher vote this week. Both teams were good,
brought a lot of design ideas and met the challenges creatively. But I
would agree with the consensus and I voted for Angel & Vilma (yellow) in the
end. I sure didn't like to watch Vilma go all "Melanie" on poor Angel, but
it didn't get too out of hand. I just think Angel is great. I really liked
Glen and Justine in the first round, though I really hated Justine's
reaction to their bedroom and wanted to toss my nachos at her for blabbing
about not getting her hardwood floor this time. But I really like Glen and
I don't care if everyone else found his tears disingenuous, I like to see
that the HO's are moved by the scope of what they're doing. So if I
*really* could vote for who I wanted, I'd pair up Glen and Angel to go to
the final! ;~)

Since I love Edward unconditionally, it wasn't hard for me to love his (and
the yellow team's) room. Angel's ideas for the shelving units and Amy's
great execution of them were outstanding. I also thought they met and
exceeded the other team in all the challenges. The giant leather sectional
they managed to find looked more like what most designers toss out, but it
was in super condition and absolutely fit the room. The fabric was
gorgeous, though not their choice... and how lucky were they to get to keep
it! They didn't seem too impressed with their newly redone room, and I
don't blame them.

The lavender team brought a pretty good game plan with them, but it fell
short. I didn't get the color scheme or the way it was blocked off. I
thought they started off by saying they were gonna have a lot of color? The
mirror was great and nicely done. I thought they were very clever to ask a
neighbor to use a computer to find their furniture... and they did find a
couple nice couches. I feel like I missed something, though. They actually
paid that women the full $2,000 for the couches she wanted $600 for? The
armoire was kinda clunky especially with those nasty wood-bead placemats
they stole from Laurie a few episodes ago. And I hate that they just tossed
a dopey bow on the TV and didn't even try to put it up somewhere.

OK, was I the only one who totally didn't get the point of the 5 Box -
homework challenges? Something about they could open any box and have to
use whatever was in it, but they could stop opening boxes anytime they
wanted and not have to use those items? The only thing that really
presented a challenge was the second whack at the dartboard o' fabric. It
was cool that they brought their friends in. And they must be some friends
to stay up with them all night.

I thought both rooms were pretty nice. The yellow team's was a bit better
overall but I really didn't care for their artwork. The flower painting
that Angel did was kind of crude compared to the rest of the room. But I
loved Vilma's shelf design! She was more fun the first time around but her
act is beginning to get tiresome.
On the other hand the flower paintings that the lavender team got their
friends to do were much nicer. And the mirror was outstanding. I wouldn't
have minded them overpaying slightly for the furniture but to dump the whole
2 grand on $600 worth of sofas seemed like a waste. (However, I did like
those sofas better than the more expensive ones the yellow team bought.)
I suppose there is no reason for the homeowners to fake liking a room if
they really don't so I can't give Vilma too much grief for her totally
lukewarm reaction. But whining about not getting a wood floor was a little
annoying, especially since the lavender team seemed to like their room more
than the yellow team did.
If it had to get down to a tiebreaker, it has to be the fact that the
yellows adapted their design to make the big TV work and the lavenders just
left it in the box. Hell, it's a flat-screen; they could have hung it on
the wall.

Was it Angel who came up with the shelf design? I was thinking it was
Vilma. Well, in any case, they were fantastic. My only problem with them
is that it seemed they made them out of nice hardwood veneer plywood but
just treated the raw edges with dark stain or paint. It wouldn't have cost
much money or taken all that much time to have finished the edges with
matching hardwood veneer tape and they would have been that much nicer.
