Starting, say, Friday we watch the episodes in an agreed order by
Thursday the following week...
I know plenty of us do bulk rewatchings anyway, but there is something
a little more fun about the "shared" experience of watching an episode
at about the same time, plus it makes comments and questions more
interesting if the episode is fresh in a few people's minds...
If no one is interested I'm fine with that... but I think it's worth a
try.

Hmmm, how many series are you going to do at once, Duggy? :-)
I have Season 1 on DVD...

I usually have 2 on the go at any one time... but that's usually a
number of episodes a day...
One ep a week I could probably easily do 7.
> I have Season 1 on DVD...
I have 1 to 7... although 4 & 5 seem to have some damaged discs.

Oh Man..... You should have caught me a couple of weeks ago! :-)
I just finished the latest "serial watch" of the whole series! I bought the
"complete series DVD" set (the one in the blue folio) and was checking out
the DVDs to ensure they all play in my player. Previously, some of the individual
season sets have problems with their encoding ( in Season 1 for example, the
"Play All" feature doesn't work -it freezes - This doesn't work in the complete
series set either :-( ).
It will probably be a few months or so before I start another WW serial watch.
But feel free to discuss any topics anyway. I think I remember enough to be able
to answer questions.

I just finished season 5 in my latest serial watch... I certainly
think 1 episode a week won't interrupt the flow of a serial watch, and
won't have that "too much, too soon" feel... but YMMV.

That's part of the problem... with people doing serial watches at
different times the replies are usually "I'm pretty sure they covered
that earlier in the episode..." or "I can't remember the context but
they might mean..." When we've all watched the episode that week the
episode will be fresh for everyone.
Plus, not just questions, but comments... "I didn't like Josh in this
episode, he seemed out of character" is boring and meaningless in a
random post to the ng... I mean who cares? However, if we've all just
watched the episode and it is fresh then there would be some comment
on the comment.
I'll try it for a few weeks, if anyone wants to come along with me
I'll keep going, if not I'll leave it be.

Fire away! The nice thing about the DVD series set is that I can look up a
particular ep. if I need clarification on something.
One of the things I like doing (not that they really bother me but I just like
finding them) are "continuity errors." Here's a starter for you. There's a large
one in re: Leo. See if you can find it.

No really the "shared experience" I was looking for, but if it works
it works.

A large one in what re: Leo?

He's Boston-Irish-Catholic out of Chicago with thousands of Scottish

Bingo! Although I wasn't aware his Chicago anscestors were Scottish.
I assumed they were Irish in either place. No matter.
OK... with which ep. would you like to start? ;-)

When he got the Star of David from Ben Josef(?) who called him "the
most Jewish man I know" he said "as a thousand Scottish ancestors..."
cry out or something.

I've doing a bulk watch of season 5 ATM, but for the weekly thing I
think starting at the pilot is the best idea.

I have all of them and think this is a great idea

OK. If I watch the first episode & post my comments, would you be
willing to do the same?
Two people watching and comment and then commenting on each other's
comments is certainly the beginning of what I want to try.
If you're willing, I'm willing.

Make it "three." We elect you to drive where we're at in the watching
cycle. You tell us which ep. you're on, and we'll watch and comment. :-)

Sure, my idea, only fair I put the effort in.
I'll start at episode 1 and work my way through, one a week... unless
people think we need to do more.
I'll post a message as an anchor and as we watch and comment on it we
can comment on it.
The only episode order issue I can see is "I&I"... anyone want it
moved to keep the episodes flowing or everyone fine where it is.
I can't (and don't want to) force people to watch that week's episode
in the week or before commenting on it, however, I think that this
will be more fun if we do.
I'd like to see at least 2 or 3 people to post their own comments on
the episode in question and not just comment on my comments so it's
not a vanity exercise for me... I'm not so in love with my own opinion
that I want people commenting on it every week - I want us to share
opinions.
So, let's see how this goes...

1 per week seems OK.

I think it's fine where it is.... I just look at it as episode "0" of season 3.

We can, but multiple threads for an ep tend to get messy. Let's leave it
at one, and since "you're driving," we let you lead on posting. :-) If there's
any reason to create a separate thread about a specific subject, that's
perfectly fine.
