I like Clay too.

That said, Arsenio Hall was the only one of the contestants who
effectively stood up to and countered Aubrey O'Day, and the whole game
changed after that.

I believe that got Donald Trump's attention along with how Arsenio
conducted himself after that.

I know Clay raised more money and I could have seen it going either
way, I like both of them. However I believe Arsenio's effectiveness in
stopping the O'Day Express got Donald Trump's attention. That's just
my read.

The "O'Day Express"? She was just a loud mouth self promoting beyotch
who was eventually going to lose to someone. She is just a punk and
Trump is not going to let a punk with no gravitas win this contest.

To say Trump was impressed with Hall for bitch slapping her is ignorant
when you consider how "all of a sudden" Hall "apologised" to her in the
next episode. And in the board room, Hall again admitted that he was
"wrong" and "said things he should not have".

My guess is that O'Day threatened to sue the show. She probably went to
Gloria Allred the day she "walked off" after getting dumped on by Hall.
Because things sure changed after that. Hall made an ass of himself with
his insincere apology and O'Day was a bit less self promoting.

Lampanelli was in fact the person with the foulest mouth who committed
the most egregious transgressions. She was so disgusting towards Mendoza
that, if this were a real corporate environment, she would have been
fired early on. In fact, Lampanelli was so disgusting she could have
been brought up on bullying charges in a court of law.

Yet Trump allowed her to continue and even featured her foul mouth in
prime time. The show has really reached the depths of hell. There was so
much manipulation of things early on that it was ridiculous. The fact
that at least a quarter of the contestants quit or did not care shows
how rigged this show was/is.

These folks are supposedly representing charities. While most of them
were classy, some were poor representatives such as O'Day and
Lampanelli. Hall was another Hollywood phony but Trump as someone said
here is a Hollywood whore. Since Hall has more to offer than Aiken, Hall
won.

The show has jumped the shark.

Who had completely run through and over anyone who got in her way.

Maybe but she was running through everyone and she was basically in
control of who was leaving until Arsenio checked her.

He said the right things, after he had done what he intended to do.
You will note that Aubrey never apologised for anything nasty she said
or did and good riddance to her.

She didn't want to leave an opportunity to be in front of a camera.

He said the polite thing, after he had accomplished what he wanted
to.

Given the choice between Lampanelli and O'Day on my team I would still
take Lampanelli. She tended not to blow her stack at people who knew
their stuff. The issue was keeping her separate from Dayana, who she
had a mad on against and part of that early on was spun up by Aubrey.
O'Day was a suicide bomber who I wouldn't want on any team.

Clay took on Penn who was apologetic. Arsenio took on O'Day after she
had run roughshod over an entire team. So I will disagree with your
assensment.

Arsenio also had no problems working with Lisa Lampanelli. Clay didn't
either.

Meh. I could have seen Clay winning, I am just saying why I think Mr.
Trump made his choice.

Then again what do I know, I thought Annie Duke had a very good
argument to win her year. When we get our own show we can make these
calls.

Here, again, Trump's desire to name someone with more potential to be
seen in the national spotlight - relatively few people knew who Annie
Duke was (or is) over Joan Rivers - revile her or love her, we all
know who she is. And she still is plenty in the spotlight.

Actually the show jumped the shark when Joan Rivers beat Annie Duke. That
was much more of an injustice that what happened this season.

That may have been, but all illusions are gone now.

A field with so much promise, and it ended up a confederacy of whores.
