does a dvd-r like this exist?

i'm looking for the following dvd-r:

- has upsampling
- has a hard drive for recording
- has a tuner (is this necessary to record tv even if i have cable?)
- is under $200

i don't need to record to dvd if i have a hd

Magnavox H2080 is a dvd recorder with 80GB hard driver and QAM/ATSC Tuner,
about $200. It is Wal Mart exclusive. But it is only available on larger
stores of Wal-Mart. Google it and read many discussions on HDTV forums.

I have the above Maganvox H2080 unit. It works great, but it does not do
upsampling as the original poster specified. But this shouldn't be a
showstopper if the TV is capable of "uprezzing" the 480i output from the
Magnavox.

I thought anything with HDMI output can upsample to 720p or 1080i.

The Magnavox H2080 does not have an HDMI interface. To get that you need to
look at the Philips 3575, which is the Mag's big brother - with twice the
disk space and HDMI outputs, but costs ~$100 more.
