It hadn't been listed in titantv.com for the longest time, but it
moved from WADL 38.3 to 38.4 for its final days on digital TV. I am
forever grateful to WCSN for introducing me to Sepak Tekraw, a local
sport of Thailand which is a cross between hackeysack and volleyball.
It wasn't nearly as cool once NBC bought it out, rerunning Olympic
footage, but sometimes it did extended live coverage on events the
main network would just touch on.
Damn shame to see it go. Someone on RAT posted an article saying NBC
wasn't going to support it, but it was unique among OTA subchannel
content.

Is that the one that's played like volleyball, but you can only use your feet? I think I once saw some Hmong guys playing that in a park around here years ago.

Whoa. Checking the listings for my broadcast station, Universal Sports
has been yanked from the subchannel. I'll have to verify what's on the
subchannel at an antenna.
Wikipedia had a note that there was a press release in September than
the channel would be entirely cable and that broadcast channels may
have to replace it with other programming, but I didn't think it would
happen immediately. Maybe some of the NBC affiliates that aren't O&Os
retained it.
I agree with you. I liked the channel's eclectic nature, but the video
signal was often week, like all the sports were taped with ancient
video equipment.

Yup. They'd show international coverage from the Asian Games and
whatnot.

As you note, WADL is an independent, and I saw the same thing you did.
Soon after the announcement was made, Antenna TV was added on 38.2. I
thought I'd get a nice comparison with RTN, but Live Well replaced it.
In any case, I like Antenna's mix better. More sitcoms, whereas RTN
became heavily reliant on hour long dramas for its schedule. Plus,
just after someone mentioned the Pearl Harbor episode of the Brady
Bunch, I saw the scene where Bobby finds the idol. Coming in late, I
was not able to check for the Arizona Memorial scene.

Yeah. as WCSN, I think they were redistributors, capturing and
rebroadcasting international feeds.

Don't worry. The same kind of people still exist on the channel (WGRZ US 2.2 in Buffalo). I turned it on and the channel was showing a ep. of "Good Times."

NBC 6.3 is off the air/ sub channel no longer available down in South
Florida.
