Hell isn't that far from Ypsilanti, where Eastern Michigan University is located and where Erik is probably a student, so it is possible.

Side note: he isn't actually from Hell, he just works there...in the frozen over area. ;-)

If Amanda has bothered to put on a few extra pounds before beginning S16, that's a good strategy. Would you prefer all the women to start the game looking like Courtney did?
We've been through this in past seasons too; I recall how some fans actually thought that Elisabeth (S2) and Amber (S8/SAS) looked so much better after a month of starvation. Why? I think it's partly because our culture has created a much higher standard for female thinness now.
They've been rerunning the old Star Trek episodes from the 1960s on my local TV stations. And the female guest stars in those episodes look positively overweight by today's standards:

Yes, they certainly do. And your point ???
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Why do you feel it is YOUR place to dictate what others should or should not find attractive ???
No one said Amanda's gaining weight was NOT a good strategy and no one said all the female contestant's should look like Courtney at the start of the game.
Your entire argument is that of an extremist (left or right - take your pick) who tries to make the debate about something other that what it is actually about, so you can "win" by "proving" something which is completely irrelevant.

The way some guys talk in here, I think the lack of new young girls will be a bit of a hardship for them. Or rather, it won't be a hardship ;p

I think it's because Americans are so damn fat that people find it refreshing to see thin and/or fit bodies.

If Amanda trained at Wendy's so much the better for her. I thought Christy (who seems to have done likewise) did a wonderful job up to the moment she made her critical blunder- which I don't think was due to her deafness.

I don't think the season 8 contestants suffered the way earlier (and later) seasons suffered. Both of the aforementioned ladies looked pretty grim IMHO by the time they were booted. I'd argue my favorite contestant was in the worst shape of any contestant when she was booted up until Janu or Courtney.
I don't go for the pro-ana babes though when it comes to Survivor I most like the ones who start a little pudgy on day 1 but look lean and muscular by day 10-15. Now admittedly at least half of these have alienated a lot of fans by that point but ...

Hardy har har.
Actually I thought Eliza looked a LOT better in those CBS photos than the first time round.

Chet is the gay guy. Works with beauty pagent contestants as a coach.

I never really understood the logistics of this. Male beauty pageant consultant spends all his time with 'beautiful' women. Male dancer spends all his time in close physical contact with women. Male hair dresser spends all his time touching women. Male fashion designer spends all his time dressing women up as he pleases.
Theoretically, shouldn't all these jobs be the 'dream career' for horny men, not gay men?

So, why is it that very few straihgt men try to pursue careers in such fields?

Ah, I see. You are claiming that only gay men are good at dancing, clothing design, or hair dressing. Would you care to elaborate on why you think it is that the 'gay gene' is connected to the 'dancing gene', for example?

Ah, poor little Elmo. Ed won't play with you so you thought you'd poke at me?

I think it might be that the gay guy is safe. Women can trust them not to hit on them so they can relax while they do their job. It won't do any good for a heterosexual male to take a job if the women don't feel relaxed enough to let them do their job.

I've been to Climax. And Uren, Moose Jaw, Vulcan, Thickwood, Biggar, Craven, Big Beaver and I live in a town called Regina which Mick Jagger says "rhymes with fun" (ie. vagina). Wonderful place, eh?

You haven't truly lived until you've visited Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump, Alberta.
Forget Amanda. Mary Sartani has to be the hottest female contestant on the show ever. Damn, what a bod! Boobs might be fake though. Doesn't really matter. :)
Natalie Bolton ain't to bad on the eyes either. Tracy Hughes-Wolf is probably the most attractive 40+ woman contestant to ever be on show.
This has to be the most female eye-candy ever in one season of Survivor.

Mary is pretty but I'm pretty sure the boobs are fake which is a bit of a turnoff. For the overall body that looks the best to my eyes I would have to go with Alexis Jones since she's in great shape and seems to be all natural.

It's definitely an interesting selection. And I think the ladies can be fairly happy with their selection.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. Does remind me a bit of Amber version 1.
>Natalie Bolton ain't to bad on the eyes either. Tracy Hughes-Wolf is >probably the most attractive 40+ woman contestant to ever be on show.
No disagreement on the above points though I'd still give the 40+ crown to my T-Bird from Survivor Africa.
>This has to be the most female eye-candy ever in one season of Survivor.
Certainly the horndogs will not be mourning this season...

It's no more the "dream career" than becoming an OB/GYN so that you can look at women's vaginas all day long. Or for a woman to become a urologist so she can inspect men's penises all day long.
>> So?
> So, why is it that very few straihgt men try to pursue careers in such > fields?
Fashion design is a *creative* endeavor, of course.
Perhaps straight men can't easily conceive of women's fashions that would appeal to *women*, rather than just looking attractive to men. Straight men are programmed to think of women as attractive to *them*. How many straight men know what styles would make a woman feel good about herself without biasing it toward his own male-oriented preferences?
Gay men might be able to look at the woman and not try to design a fashion that men would like, but that women would like.
Hey, maybe that's why so many of these fashions emphasize the super-thin near-anorexic look: That's what gay men consider to be attractive in a woman--the less woman the better! :-)
