I bet that Dr. Rush will find commstones aboard that alien ship. He
will then be able to take over people on the Destiny or on Earth and
complain about Young stranding him.
It's not an ancient ship, so I'd be surprised if he found stones. He'll
just fly it out of there...or find Spock and Scotty with a kick-ass
transporter.

I really doubt that. Commstones aren't telephones, they're matched pairs.
For one stone of a matched pair from the alien ship to turn up on Destiny
or Earth, an "orphan" commstone would have to have been found, along with a
really unlikely explanation of how it could have gotten there.
Much easier: Rush *brought* one of the commstones with him.

D'oh!
The producers have a ship there for a reason. He's going to fix it fly
away. If they wanted him to have comm stones, they would've given him
a building instead.

I think this is an excellent probability, considering that Rush is aware
that his life is in danger all the time. I don't think he'd have any
misgivings about switching souls with someone on earth, and leaving them
to die somewhere in his body.

My impression is no, but if the plot needs Rush to have a commstone, it'd
be a lot easier to give a reason for why he did it this once than to
"discover" a new matched pair divided between the alien ship and Earth or
Destiny.
Having a commstone isn't enough to save Rush, though. The crew can't
change Destiny's course, so they can't tell it to double back to get him.
(The ship could decide that on its own, but I don't expect it to.)
The only other option the crew has are the little ships that normally drop
Stargates on the local planets. Have we had any indication at all of them
being hyperspace capable? I don't recall any. However, if they are, then
there'd be a way to go back, pick Rush up, and catch up (while Destiny
spends 12 hours or so out of hyperspace).
As smart as Rush is, I'd expect hunger and thirst to win long before
he has time to figure out an alien ship. That leaves the planet's
Stargate... :)

Someone needs to explain to Timmy that stones don't work like that. They
come in pairs, so even if he were to find a stone on the ship, the mate
would need to be on Destiny for some reason. But he won't.

Robert Carlyle has been quoted as saying he's rescued or discovered by
aliens, and when we next see his character he'll be floating in some
sort of liquid-filled tank.

I'd be satisfied if he figured out that what he *wants* is pretty
irrelevant to what tptb will actually *do* on the show.

Oooh, I like your spoilers... I was wondering how he'd get back.
Maybe the tank will also grow him a sense of non-entitlement
(although, his "learning is all, everything else is secondary
attitude" would seem pretty accurate for the super smart).

Would those be the same aliens who shot up the Destiny before the series
began?
