I have finally seen part of the episode "Life" broadcast 2 weeks ago,
plus tonight (December 4)'s episode. Some of the commstone users have
displayed aberrant behavior:
In SGU: Earth, Chloe, on her 2nd commstone trip to Earth, got drunk.
Meanwhile, Telford, on a commstone visit to Destiny, subjected the
Destiny to an experiment that could have destroyed it, then fled back to
Earth with his conspirators when it appeared that Destiny was about to
blow up.
SGU: Life: Telford has been drinking with Everett's wife Emily, and
apparently falsely telling her that Everett is still sleeping with TJ!
Meanwhile, Young has attacked Telford twice.
December 4 episode: Young attacks Rush and abandons him on an alien
planet!
I therefore suspect that use of commstones may cause damage to the
user's mental stability.
I also suggest that the creators can use commstone induced mental
effects to rehabilitate Young's reputation after the viewers have seen
him savagely beating people up.
I wonder how TJ is going to do a psych evaluation of her former lover
Young!
Some of Destinys crew who haven't used
commstones have demonstrated aberrant
behaviour

We can blame some of the aberrant behavior of the commstone users on the
stress of being stranded a billion light years from home, but that excuse
doesn't apply to Telford, who has been poisoning Emily's mind and subjecting
the Destiny to risky experiments.
that may be because he's always been a bad 'un, com-stones or no
com-stones.

Everett Young behaved in a very unprofessional way in the November 20 episode
(twice assaulting a fellow officer, to wit Telford, for the "crime" of befriending
his wife) and again last night (assaulting Dr. Rush and stranding him on a desert
planet), yet he is one of the main protagonists. I therefore assume that the
creators plan some explanation to mitigate Young's behavior so that we can
continue to root for him. If such mitigation isn't forthcoming, how can we root
for a man who's prone to fits of homicidal rage against non-enemies such as
Telford? (Telford and Rush have not been portrayed as unmitigated antagonists.
They are not Goa'uld, or Ori, or Lucians, or corrupt politicians. They are fellow
human beings dedicated to getting the Destiny crew home).
But Telford could be commstoning with
the Lucian Alliance

Obviously you don't understand that this is supposed to be "dark and
edgy," where everybody hates everybody except for the geeky overweight
kid. (Who, at least, is losing weight as you would expect someone
stranded without access to McD's would.)
I don't think the writers care if we actually like any of the
characters.

Promote someone else.
I believe you are correct. I'm committed to watching this series as long as
it lasts, but I won't be buying the DVD's. Once is more than enough.

Had Chloe not done an admirable job of slowing down Wray and Eli not
discovered the tampered kino footage, it could just as easily have been
Young imprisoned or tossed out an airlock. Frankly Rush was not dedicated
to getting the Destiny home in any way that I can see. He was simply on his
own intellectual odessy and the hell with the rest of the human beings.
Rush doesn't really care who's in charge as long as they leave him alone to
do as he will.
I think stranding him on that planet was a just desert for his mutiny. He
will hopefully not be returning to the show, but since they are running this
like a soap-opera we can bet we'll see him again. The dead always come back
sooner or later.

Same here, unless there is a drastic change in the show.
Naa, young is the only killer onboard.

You can't mutiny when you haven't signed up for something.
Hear hear
You can when you've been "impressed"

I haven't seen him kill anyone outright, just beat up a couple of people.
