So Star Trek (2009) was a ripoff of Voyager's "Year of Hell" episode

Gotta thank BB-15 for the episode name.

A Husband loses his wife, blames everyone, goes back in time, screws
up the timeline, and Voyager has to physically ram the ship to destroy
it. Pretty much Star Trek (2009) in ways.

The "temporal time device" he was using to avoid a paradox was
destroyed. Then the magic reset button was pushed and everything was
back to normal. And somehow, magically, the guy was back with his
"living" wife now.

Revenge is always for the BAD guy. LOL.

The thing that sucks for this movie is how Spock just gives in on NOT
saving Vulcan. He could time travel backwards and take out Nero with
some more Red Matter or some "weapon pulled out of a hat that never
existed before." Instead, meh.

Instead, Spock just bows to Nero. Bows to the situation. Two Spocks
watch Vulcan destroyed. The only one who COULD do something
retroactively, doesn't.

Now, Kirk risked his career to save Spock twice, once in TOS and once
in a movie. Kirk time traveled to set right.

Kirk died hoping he "made a difference."

Instead, Spock becomes a librarian of Vulcan culture.

What a wimp. Spock just puts up with whatever.

Kirk is the only man with balls.

That would be two more than idiots like Captain Obvious have.

Maybe Spock/Nimoy could get in character and get back/forward, grab up
the dying Kirk/Shatner, give Picard a nod and carry dying Kirk to
Talos IV...

So here ya go, why ST09 blew.
I was willing to give it a chance. I really was-- until about midway
through the movie when Spock Prmie melds with brat Kirk and tells the
story of his capture by Nero.
His capture by Nero?!?!
Of all people, Spock Prime knew beyond any doubt that Red Matter could
never ever in any fucking way be allowed to fall into the hands of
anyone who even has a hint of bad intentions.He knew that he could
not allow it to fall into Nero's hands. Nero did not disble his ship
or its command functions in any way, since New, Improved Spock jumps
in and flies it out later.

I can't believe Geordi LaForge would build the Jellyfish with no self
destruct function. At any rate, it had a full array of weapons. Spock
Prime had to know that he had to either go down fighting or self-
destruct to keep the Red Shit out of Nero's clutches. If not, the
writers needed to come up with one gaddamned doozy of an excuse as to
why the hell not, not just Spock Prime kneeling to give Nero the
customary victor's blow job...
