Let me tell you, go back and start them all over. I watched episodes 1-4 and forgot how good these early ones were. If you pick out other successful shows, be they dramas or comedies, the first few episodes are generally bad. Take Seinfeld for example, his first 5 episodes or so were horrible, unwatchable at least to me. But, watching the Sopranos last night, I think Nancy Marchand's role as Tony's mom was more spectacular than I previously thought. The few things I picked up was her wonderful acting, I really liked Big Pussy and Christopher's wild and cocky ways made for some entertaining shows. I even liked the Brandon character that got whacked in the tub. The episodes where Tony would beat the crap of Mikey P. was priceless. Just wondering if anyone else is starting to watch them again from Season 1.

You bet. I was just watching an episode from Season 2, I believe, in which Tony was giving driving lessons to Meadow. She was awful, even trying to drive straight! Some things never change.

Not to mention driving Jackie's car off a parking lot embankment

What you'll find is that even episodes that you thought were the shits were not that bad. Season 4 stands out for me. I thought it was God awful. A year or so afterwards I borrowed it from a buddy and rewatched it - I was impressed to tell the truth.

I'm not sure i'll buy the ones with Johnny Cakes. I just can't paying the money only to fast forward through the gay lovemaking between Vito and JC. Yuck!

I forgot to reply to you. Yes, you're 100% correct. I can watch these over and over just like I can the HBO Band of Brothers. I watch this constantly and never seem to tire of it. I wish HBO would put some more stuff out. One series I thought would be very good would be having a show of DEA agents tracking down Colombian drug runners. I think that concept would make for a great show. No more Big Love type of shows. Who wants to watch a bunch of culties anyhow.

I liked "The Corner", which, I believe, premiered after the first Sopranos season ended.

I liked it too. And "The Wire" is much better IMO. Same writers (I think) and some of the same cast.
