I'll probably get flamed for this, but the "Feminist Movement" is partly to
blame in a wierd way. Females are told so many times how they are not
respected, they overshoot and think they must be with guys less than
themselves to continue feeling that "in control" feeling that they are told
they are so often without.

He's about half as smart as she is. I have no faith here. Why Clare
can't stay away from such losers is, however, something of a mystery.
Unless she always felt her mother hated her. I suspect she was an unplanned
child.
Why do you say that? He at least passed the bar.

I'm not sure doing her in the supply room at work is a good first
kiss.....
...if not she can go out with me instead ;-)

Hey, I'm the first to irrationally bash lawyers, but it does take some
manner of intelligence to pass that test. But that aside, what in the show
leads you to think he isn't very smart, or that Claire is?
- Borat
The way Claire's character has been portrayed has led most of us to
conclude that she is a brilliantly talented artist, but I think we
tend to jump to that conclusion just because she is a sympathetic
character who is passionate about art, or what she thinks art is. I
think a more realistic view is that she is fairly bright and has a
measure of talent, but doesn't have much hope of succeeding in the art
world, even if it's just because she has no talent for dealing in, or
even putting up with, bullshit.
Before last night's episode, I believed she might be maturing into a
realization that the art world isn't really offering what she wants in
life, and boy oh boy is *that* a common story. How many art school
graduates are there in the U.S.? How many working artists? Do the
math. Maybe Claire just isn't all *that* special, and Ball & Co.'s
depiction is just stark realism. After last night's episode, I am
more convinced than ever that she's going to surrender to what she
once thought would be the ultimate nightmare: a conformist existence
in a dull office job and the dating world of professionals and
careerists. She took a brief trip back into the world of psychosis,
obsession and narcissism, and I don't think she liked it much.

And will Claire's wacko co-worker who imagined herself to be Ted's
pending girlfriend go after Claire now in retaliation??
I imagine so, and hope so. Could be some good theater.
Women are far more creative than men when they are jealous and out for
revenge.

See, but from Claire's perspective...
Claire would be horrified to wake up and find herself attached to an
ordinary guy with a Weber Grill and a barcalounger never deviates from
doing it missionary on Saturday night.
At least the supply closet hump shows he has some imagination and a
little taste for the dangerous and exotic.
And, he gets points for behaving like a gentleman the night before...
I'm not so down on him, I think he's kind of cute and took it pretty
well when Claire called him a "loser," which would been very
off-putting to a lot of people.
Just so she could keep it safe from Ruth's pilfering.

I feel exactly the same way. But I'm waiting to see how he treats her
in the morning.

True, but there's always a piece we haven't seen with everyone!
Well, there are FOUR episodes left and it IS pay cable. I'm all for
seeing Ted's piece.
There has been some suggestion that Clair might be the final COTW in the
series end. Perhaps by the hand of a psycho stalker jilted cow-orker?
