Happy 450th (aired) episode! Doing a story about Grampa's ramblings
can venture into bizarre territory (I'm actually thinking someone of
Ralph's self-conscious silliness of late) - but this worked out all
right. I didn't realize Mitch Albom was only doing a bit part, so when
Marshall showed up, at first I thought "wow, Mitch Albom sounds a lot
like a nerdy Hank Azaria". Bart/Lisa's story was fun enough, although
Wiggum seemed a little more mean than incompetent this time. Anyway...
till next time...

DYN:
...Marge took a picture of an MABF02 license plate?
...the bacon grease moustache Homer got from Flanders' mug looks like
Flanders' own?
...Bart is frying the lamb in the kitchen when he first gets it home?
...Lisa stops by the Jazz Hole?
...Hank Azaria is listed for the Marshall role in the movie or stage
version? (He played Mitch in the Tuesdays with Morrie movie)
...Homer's rant over the credits finishes before the end of the cast
list, as with many bits in the 10th and 11th seasons, even though Fox
has shown full credits on premieres and most otheres since season 20?

Previous episode stuff
(among other things) 1F12: Grampa's complaints at the start remind me
of the run here
BABF21: Lisa has misgivings about the aquarium show
8F01: "Quotable notable"
3F16: Grampa complaining Clark Gable never paid him for the shoeshine
reminds me of a beef against Chester J. Lampwick here
1F20: Homer clearing out his brain by removing knowledge of how to
drive stick reminiscent of this (perhaps he wants to take another home
wine making course)
9F12, 1F16: Homer's jealousy over new *son* figure and "adoption" of
Mr. Burns... and, well, Bart's same with Burns

Also
The Cleveland Show tonight (1APS06, Field of Streams) had a stuffed
animal in Cleveland Jr.'s room: Larry the Leopard.

Yep, brain fart on title. I'm practically hypothermic here. By the
way, why Thursdays?

A goof I noticed just today: When Carl and Lenny are lowering Homer
into the train window, Lenny is missing his beard/stubble/muzzle thing
in closeup. Actually I noticed it last night, because something looked
amiss, but I couldn't put my finger on it once the shot disappeared.

Wild guess: The Simpsons originally aired on Thursday night?

I remember pretty clearly it has always been on Sunday. I remember
getting together with friends to watch on Sunday nights.

Your memory is faulty. It used to air at 8PM ET, opposite The Cosby
Show on NBC.
