Kamen Rider Amazon

the episode numbers, first he appeared to have just arriived in Japan,
fought a spider monster. The third Tachibana Tobe tried to teach him
to ride a motorcycle. Fourth Tachibana Tobe gave him a motorcycle.
Amazon is a strange character. I used deja.com to read some old posts
here, trying to find out what he is based on. The one that made most
sense to me was the message that said he was a piranha. He looks fishy
and he bites. And you'd find that fish in the Amazon. Is he the only
KR that bites? I can't remember if Shin bites.but I don't think Shin
should count though. No special cycle only rides an ordinary cycle in
human form, no henshin movement. And no henshin belt (or bracelet in
Amazon's case).
I'm getting some Super 1 episodes, then I'll have seen some of every
Rider except ZX. I think V3 is still my favorite, that comes from
watching as a kid, but I really enjoyed the first 8 of the original
series, and though the tape was bad, Amazon is very interesting.

Hi:
Some are , but mostly insects of some kind , bee (super 1), cockroacher (X),
grasshoppers (various forms, ZO, X, kamen 1 , 2 ) , dragonfly (V3) , beetle
(stronga) etc with the exception of Amazon which is a cameleon .

So did I until I saw a picture of Amazon on the web.
In fact I didn't know there were what 17 KR. I have a newspaper
article from the 70's that says there were 5 and describes X as the
strongest. 20 years later that is no longer accurate. :-)

Amazon doesn't look like a chameleon to me, looks more like a fish.
Are there chameleons in the Amazon? I agree that Stronga/Stronger
could be a beetle but I'm not sure V3 looks like a dragonfly. You have
X as both a cockroach and a grasshoper. Did you mean ZX for RX for one
of those?

From the design of the costume , it is a lizard or cameleon of some kind . The
costume has camaflage, try putting a toy of Amazon (medicom or such) in a grassy
area , I bet you can't locate it easily :P
The fins also suggest it is some kind of cameleon. There are episodes in which
Amazon erects his back fin , much like some giant lizard or cameleon The claws
and the teeth of Amazon also strongly suggest that.
Amazon forest definitely has cameleons :) Also, Amazon jumps around the trees and
ground , not much action in water .
I don't know what ZX is , but from some exotic beetles that I have seen, with red
and greenish colour , ZX has the colour and the similiarity to them .
RX is just another grasshopper design with really Big eyes :P
V3 looks more like a dragonfly than anything I can think of , it has the teeth
look (on the mask) of a dragonfly anyway :) and I recall there are some on the
newsgroup suggested that a while back also.
I like Amazon and RX and J looks , the latter two have some armour look to it .
Again, V3 is the best series , followed by black and RX.

Hi:
ZO is kewl too. But somehow I feel that J has a better design. Generally , I like
simple and effective design much like the older ultramen , they are less flashy and
simple. Look at Ultraman King design, the designer uses different colour (not red)
and a few simple garment to make it stand out and looks royal (using gold and dark
purple to signify royalty) etc. Of course , the beard also adds to his superiority .
Much like ultraman father with those sideburns on his cheek and the horns to make
him look older and more superior.
I think ZO is also a grasshopper , and J has the improve version of it . i think i
prefer J over ZO because of the slippers like shoes on ZO :P
kamen riders are generally insects except for Robo rider , prince of Wrath, Shadow
(the bad rider) and riderman.
Shin Kamen rider is the one that looks like a grasshopper the most .
But they generally have big eyes and the antennae. They are kinda their signatures.
The old costume seems to be more cloth like and the new design is more armor like .
It might be due to technology not available in the 70s .The costume (in the 70s)
were usually made by a company called Tokyo Clothing (a straight translation from
the japanese words ), you can see the name for the costume company in the credit in
most tokusatsu shows.
v3 might not have the best costume design. I get turned off by green on costume
(with the exception of baromu 1), but I think V3 is the peak of the kamen rider
series and certainly my most favourite.
I hope medicom will a J figure soon, the costume is my second favourite next to
Amazon which is quite unique among the riders.
the worst one in my opinion would be Sky, doesn't look like the designer put much
thought in it :P

Despite the fact that both J and ZO look alike . They do have differences . ZO has
thin golden lines running on his costume while J has the Green and lighter green
under the green, the pattern is repeated throughout the J costume.
Also, the emblem on belt is different, J has the 'quarter of a pie ' shape for it
while ZO has the semi rectangular shape on the belt.
The silver part on the mask for both are almost the same but not quite . I think J
design is based on ZO.
But one thing in common for sure .......both movies suck ...HAHA! ^_^
I think the original kamen rider did enlarge himself once in the Ultraman vs Kamen
rider, so the enlargement ability of J is not really new.
Just a kamen rider trivial, Rider super 1 is the only one series that employed a
martial art director with Shaolin temple training (well according to the credit
anyway). Shaolin temple is the origin or most think of martial art in China . The
chinese army still employs some of the ancient fighting techniques from them in
their combat. Some fighting techniques in the super 1 series does show some
similarity of the Shaolin temple martial art moves.
