The Rockford Files Movie Collection Vol 1
|
| |
So I got a copy of the Rockford Files Movie Collection Volume 1 for a gift and just finished watching it. James Garner is certainly older, but I really thought he still did a great job with these movies. Perhaps not as good as the high points in the original series, but not at all bad either. I always thought that a lot of the things he did on the original series... more »

The spirit of Angel alive in Boston
|
| |
A convicted restaurant scammer’s bogus tooth-damage claims have earned him a year’s worth of jailhouse dining privileges - redeemable if he gets in trouble again in the next three years. Bret Maverick entire run
|
| |
I got through nearly all of "Bret Maverick" on Encore Westerns. I just have to rewatch the pilot and "Welcome to Sweetwater" and one other episode I missed in this rotation because the DVR didn't record it for some reason. I didn't remember several of the episodes, so I must have missed them when they were in first run. But a number of them were quite familiar.... more »

Encore Westerns describes "Anything for a Friend" thusly, but it's actually "Welcome to Sweetwater".... more »

Bret Maverick "The Mayflower Women's Historical Society"
|
| |
Certainly the strangest episode I've ever seen on a James Garner tv show. A young, self-deluded woman desperate for adventure has read about Bret and constructed elaborate fantasies about him and decides to live a Western life in Sweetwater. She's a member of the title society, which she claims both records history and preserves it. She puts Bret in the... more »

"Kill the Messenger"
|
| |
I rewatched "Kill the Messenger", a fifth-season episode written by Juanita Bartlett. It's really a mess of an episode. None of the comedy works. Dennis is paired with Officer Frank Dusenberg, an uncreative character useless as a detective who is using his wife's pregnancy as an excuse to get out of a sensitive investigation he's supposed... more »

Google on "Health Status of James Garner" and read the entry, "Fears for James Garner's Health" under Starpulse Entertainment News. Sounds like good recovery is distant.
