Atlantic Magazine Nostalgia On Lost Charm of Men Featuring James Garner and Cary Grant
Adam, Brian of Canada, et al.: Here's a current article primarily on Garner and Grant which says some good, insightful things about Garner--he emerges as the premiere charmer--in nostalgic appreciation, stressing The Rockford Files. It's worth a read even though it's the kind of stuff ever-more-desperate print journals are throwing out there these days as doom sweeps in.... more »

853 OKG and Pat McKinney
[link] "McKinney has three Rockford cars: one '76 and two '78s. The '76 and one of the '78s are in pretty rough but original condition, and the other '78 is about 80% restored. He has confirmation of the authenticity of all of them-... more »

Sad Last Days
The current issue of the National Examiner (seen in the supermarket) has an article with the ominous title "Sad Last Days" about former TV stars of crime series including James Garner. They show a picture of Garner in a wheelchair holding a cane (of course they'll choose the worst picture possible). The article tells about his stroke and having arthritis about... more »

Fire in the Sky
Saw it recently. Investigator Garner's skepticism of D.B. vs. the Bad Aliens was the only convincing part. He was in the movie but outside it. Hallucinations surrounding him. Wonder why he bothered? Money, maybe. Hopefully not interest. Last scene (Garner not in it) is unintentionally hilarious.

The Garner Files
Well, I finally read the book. It was nice hearing the stories in Garner's own voice, even though I was familiar with most of them. Just a few things I learned: He talked a bit about the convoluted history of Move Over, Darling, the remake of My Favorite Wife. Garner says he was supposed to star in... more »

Roger Ebert reviews They Only Kill Their Masters
[link] This review really cracked me up. I love Ebert's criticism of the meat loaf scene. It's one of James Garner's lesser movies, one that he wouldn't even discuss in his as-told-to autobiography last year. Too bad it's a lousy... more »
