A producer who wrote a modern adaptation of Charles Dickens' _A Christmas
Carol_ tried to cast James Garner in the touring company, as well as other
name stars from long ago.
It's pretty clear that the guy just never had any investors so I don't
expect this to play in Chicago. The tour has been canceled in other cities.
It is a tantalizing hint that perhaps Garner has recovered his good health,
but we won't know for sure until he does show up on stage or television.

The guy obviously doesn't have a very stellar track record when it
comes to putting on shows.
Thanks for posting the info.

If I thought there was the slightest chance of seeing Garner on stage,
I'd buy tickets for it. But it doesn't look like this will be staged.
Wow, that Kevin Von Feldt story from the Chicago Reader is funny! He
could've sustained an ep in TRF all by himself! He and Angel would
have hit it off great! I'm guessing that in Von Feldt's adaptation,
Scrooge hits Tiny Tim over the head with a crutch.
