The current issue of the National Examiner (seen in the supermarket) has an
article with the ominous title "Sad Last Days" about former TV stars of
crime series including James Garner. They show a picture of Garner in a
wheelchair holding a cane (of course they'll choose the worst picture
possible). The article tells about his stroke and having arthritis about
everywhere you can have it and his limited mobility and not being able to
drive.

He talked about it a bit in his as told to biography last year. He's been
in a lot of pain for a lot of years, but of course, it's all caught
up with him.

He's had multiple heart attacks, too.

Huh. You get old and the effects of outstanding health issues catch up
with you. Who knew?

It sounds like Harold Whitbeck and his proof-reader are trying to get back at Jim.

The National Examiner,....seriously?

Seriously what? That it exists?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Examiner

That they publish articles about actors under the title "Sad Last Days"?

Um,..no. Their existence doesn't in the least surprise me. I'm laughing at the credibility of it all. Remember the episode "Local Man Eaten by Newspaper"?

You weren't clear.

I wasn't supporting their credibility just stating its existence.
