Dan Shore) had recently passed away. He's apparently best known for
his role on "Melrose Place", but I remember him as the gruff Federal
Agent, Dan Shore.
I thought he played the character to a "T". He certainly had the look
to be a hard-nosed Fed, and his delivery was rock solid IMO. I think
what I liked about Shore the most, is the fact that he came on strong
(as expected), but wasn't afraid to make a deal with Jim, if need be.
It's too bad we didn't see more of him throughout the series. Among
only a handful of characters I would have enjoyed seeing more of,
Danny Shore ranks up there at the top. I mean, with the amount of
times that Jim was harassed by the Fed's, Dan Shore could have become
a semi-regular, don't you think?
Rest in peace, Wayne, and thanks for the memories.

Was that character supposed to be David Shore as seen in This Case Is
Closed? Perhaps actor James McEachin wasn't available so they slightly
changed the name?
Another time this happened was in Sticks and Stones... where Cleavon Little
played private eye Billy Merrihew and later in House on Willis Avenue Vince
Howard played private eye Billy Mayhue. Coincidence?

I'd like to have seen Simon Oakland more in TRF. He was a violinist in
another life and could have done stuff like been an irritating
restaurant violinist interrupting Jim trying to snow Lindsay over
cottage fries and ribs. Or practicing violin horribly on the beach
late at night. A linebacker-sized Jack Benny playing violin. Whatever
role, irritating. He did that well. It would have been a kick to have
Jack Webb make one cameo appearance with Denis in the precinct room,
maybe Webb as a visiting Lt. Also Rickles rather than Jack Carter.
More Ron Rifkin. More Cleavon Little. More Jill Clayburgh. Suzanne

Yeah ... I always enjoyed his interactions with Rockford. Last time I
saw him, it startled me, because I recognized him right away, but he
had aged considerably and put on a ton of weight. Funny thing was, he
was no taller than Corbett, but cameras in Hollywood are clever liars.
Also, he had been married to the same lovely lady for 50 years at the
time of his death, and considering the lurid rules of the industry
that paid his way, I figured it noteworthy enough to point out that
Wayne Tippit was never a function of it.
