I've just finished watching an original version of Future Echoes on UKGold,
the quality was very good... better than my VHS copy. So that proves that
there are good quality versions around of the originals..... So there's no
real excuse to force the re-masturbated ones on us any more... Are you
listening Doug? We don't want em, you made the smeggers you keep em.....
along with Glenn Miller. :o)

Ah, that's what I forgot to mention in my post on this - the sound and
picture quality were excellent. I started watching just after the
break in "The End", and thought it was the remastered version until
the "...sir" bit in Hollister's office, which made me perk my ears up
rather suddenly. High quality prints of the original Red Dwarf? Pinch
me! :-)

I'm hoping BBC America hears this as well! They play the remassacred version.
So far, I've only seen Series 1R, and am dreading the thought of what they
might have done to Backwards (series 3 opener -- a classic, IMO.)

Unfortunately, it seems that only the remastered ones are available for
purchase here in America, Ian. I haven't yet seen the remastered version of
Backwards, but it's on my list of things to buy...

Are those for when the ads are going by too fast, and you want to slow them
down?

I think I'm changing my mind on this whole Ell Jay/SmUK thing... You
*have* to be SmUK because he *NEVER* let spelling errors slip past
without making some witty comment.

Uh-oh, making witty comments that amuse people is actually my first
mission in life, just above correcting errors!
