I stupidly bought "Frankly Red" by Shiseido without testing it for
greasiness. It's the kind that migrates to your teeth before you can
say "oh no, $17 for nothing!" Godammit.
Just checking in,

I feel your pain. My new "Violet Light" was a disappointment, though a
less costly won than yours at only 9.99.

i have violet light!!! that's an oldie, like from 1996 or 97. the reason i know
this is because i bought so many frigging lipsticks that year that i am still
using them all up and haven't bought a new one in 3 years or so. but $9.99????
is that what revlon costs now? or is it the special hoity toity smudge free
dealybob?

the one i wear all the time is coffee bean.

I used to love Coffee Bean. Then I discovered Slate and Iced Mocha. However, my
new favorite lipstick is Jane's "Go Platinum" and I use it with Oil of Olay
lipliner in "Chocolate." The lipstick from Jane is great because it's only like
$3.

Although I am tempted to go buy an Iced Mocha lipstick....

I've found that Clinique lipstick has the best texture of any lipstick
I've tried. Revlon doesn't smooth on as well. Shiseido tends to be too
greasy.

Not that it matters, but here is my $0.02 on the lipstick issue, and I have
tried alot of what is out there, and Loreal's "Real Raisin" is the most long
lasting, non-greasy lipstick out there. The reason I specified the shade is
that that color really does look good on anyone. Just thought I would share.

Marla...Oy! That is my absolute favorite lipstick!!!

Also, the best red lipstick I've ever found (from the drugstore shelf, anyway)
is Candied Apple by L'Oreal. I've never found one that looked good on me
before, ever, because my skin has a golden/olive tone to it.

When your lipstick is too greasy, here are 3 things to help:

1.) Use a foam eyeshadow applicator to put some powder blush on your lips
before you put on the lipstick

2.) Put the lipstick on, then blot and with one ply of tissue on your lips,
brush powder through the tissue to your lips

3.) Keep the lipstick in the fridge.

Always happy to help with makeup/hair tips.... maybe we could do makeovers at
the baby shower.

Maybe you could could cut it up into a little container and mix it with powder?
Or leave it open for a few days to dry out?

You should just return it. If they refuse to refund your money, we could all

I just bought 2 new hairproducts that my stylist recommended. One was Shampoo
potion #5 by Sebastion, and I don't like it. It leaves my hair too greasy
feeling. I do like the leave in conditioner, potion #9. It helps reduce my
flyaway.

Millions of little girls are circumcised every year, even some
illegally in this country, sad but true. Hopefully the backward
practice of circumcising boys or girls will end and future generations
will be spared the mutilation.

I found #9 to be too heavy for my hair but it's better than most
leave in stuff. Phytosomething (you know the brand I mean) has a
leave-in product called #7 and it's the shit! Expensive though.

I hate to say it but my Laurent D product IS GOOD! REALLY GOOD!
Smoothing without being oily of flattening your hair too much.

As for taking back my lipstick....should I? It's worthless. I'll look
for the receipt.

Are you talking about L'Oreal's Rouge Virtuale in "Real Raisin"? I just bought
it today and I find it greasy. In all honesty I couldn't remember what color you

But Kelly, don't you find Color Endure very drying? I have it in
Hearts on Fire and also Ruby, and I'm not happy with the way it begins

to cake up and then fade, leaving only the outline intact.
And check this out: yesterday I saw the perfect red lipstick
in a brand I've never heard of, in a cute silver tube with
rhinestones on the top, only $15 at Bloomingdales and
I DIDN"T BUY IT. AM I INSANE???????????

Have you tried the pencil-type lipsticks? There are so many out there....some of
them are way too dry, though. Try Avon's 3 in one all over face pencil. Avon's
Beyond Color lipsticks are also not greasy. I also recommend Chanel lipsticks,
Origin & Merle Norman fat pencil lipsticks.
And, just in case anyone is looking for a phat lipgloss (but it is mega greasy), try
Lancome's Lip Brio.

I'm not sure yet. I just bought it out of the fact that I couldn't remember the exact
title of lipstick, only that it contained the word Raisin. I like the color though,
so I may be willing to deal with it.

Won lipstick I am impressed with is Revlon's Color & Shine (You know, the won with the
color stay lipstick and then the gloss to put over.) It stays really well, and
doesn't look cakey after awhile of being on your lips. The only downside is that I've
yet to find a color I can wear during the day. I have one called "Lunar" and it's
mostly for going to clubs because it's so dark.

Why didn't you buy it?!You know, I've yet to find a shade of red that looks right on
me. My face sometimes takes on an olive tint (the Portuguese half of me) while still
staying relatively pale (the Irish side of me.) I've gotten a bit more tan over the
summer, but I still can't wear red. I'm more of a dark maroon/brown/earthy-toned
lipstick wearer.

There is a huge difference between the two. Circumcision for girls
leads to many, many health problems and the inability to have enjoy sex
(for most). Now, on to the lipstick talk!!!! And leave this thread.

I like the revlon product that is the lipliner on one side and the
"shine" lipstick on the other side (in a tube).

Water bras were sent from the heavens! The ones with the lace from Frederick's
of Hollywood are the absolute best.

What's the best push-up bra brand? I haven't ever found a really good one.
Victoria's Secret bras are the worst. They only look good on women with
implants.

Hmm, now I'm tempted to try won. Although Christine says they're heavy... did you
find them to be heavy?

Well, won day I ended up trying won of those Victoria's Secrets "Miracle Bras" not
realizing it wasn't just a regular won. Miracle Bra -- HAH! It's a miracle they
weren't hitting my chin!

Have you tried any by Frederick's, or maybe even the original creator-- the
wonderbra?

Must say though, VS does have nice normal bras (not the push up wons).

Liz, thank you for your suggestion. You are a nice won. I will try that on
Friday, and I'll make sure I go to a place that takes the makeup back just in
case it doesn't look quite right.

Pantene Pro-V light spray conditioner for fine hair. Use it AFTER you've
used a two-in-won. Works wonders.

Felina baby. They are the shit, even if you wear an A (ahem), they are
shaped beautifully and realy do the job. Plus they are really gorgeous
as art objects, with embroidery, tiny pearls, the whole thing. I can't
say enough about them! Their matching thongs though are
very painful and not worth the suffering. For thongs,

I find VS thongs to be very comfortable, but the material itself does not wash
well.

Pixie, I certainly wasn't talking about you... I think you are won of the few

Marci, I have that baby fine hair too with just a hint of wave (I hate it!).
When my hair gets all tangly and snarly, I spray on Infusium 23 (cheapo product
you can get at the drug or grocery store). Use a comb with wide teeth, and
start detangling your hair from the bottom ends and work up. Then you can comb
through it as usual.

I also like the Paul Mitchell leave in conditioner (and a side benefit of that
is it helps my nails too).

Pixie, I love you but let's pretend you didn't say that about the
clippies.
I wanted to report that an overpriced snooty brand called
NARS makes a lip-stain that comes in a little bottle and stains your
lips for hours & hours without fading or coming off. My girlfriend
bought it from a salesgirl with long purple hair and a black
cowboy hat, with bats tattooed on her arm. We both wanted to
take her home, kind of like a cool life-sized Barbie doll. She was
so pretty.
PS It comes in 3 colors

You probably hafta use soap or eye make-up remover. Plus, you can use
it as a foundation for your lipstick, or gloss. But it looks really
good by itself, like you've been eating berries. "Benifit" makes a lip
stain too but it DOESNT WORK. They are motherfuckers.

PS How come two fine sisters like us is on the net right now
instead of going out wth that guy on the cover of the new
Vanity Fair??? Please look at him & report back.

Yep, I got a lipstick (red, duh) from Nordstrom, and then they had the
nerve to stop carrying the line. I felt bad for poor Anna Sui. It
wasnt a great lipstick, but you're right, the case is really cool and
goth looking.
