This morning it was mentioned on the News that the Ken Bruce show on BBC Radio 2 now has a record 7.7 million listeners. On this morning's show he played the record "Living by Numbers" by New Musik, a British Top 20 hit in 1980. The record ends with members of the band reciting "They don't want your name... just your number". As the record faded Ken Bruce shouted "I'm a free man !" And then said "That's the nearest I get to impersonating Patrick McGoohan.

No explanation needed for his listeners. Admittedly he did also refer to Champion the Wonder Horse with no explanation as well !

Ken Bruce is a typical Radio 2 daytime DJ - he knows F-all about music and
not much else about anything else, apparently.

At least Terry Wogan admitted to being an old geezer with failing abilities.
